Rev. Franklin Graham, son of Dr. Billy Graham, has spoken to federal government people and the four people remaining at the Harney County Resource Center (aka Malheur National Wildlife Refuge).
A spokesman for Graham told the media about his conversations with both sides, but beyond that there is no comment.
The arrested and jailed Ammon Bundy agreed with his father's statement about the need for local control of the center-refuge. But he also urged the four people remaining at the refuge to 'go home now so their lives are not taken.'
Meanwhile the family of the man who lost his life at the hands of law enforcement last week issued a new more toughly worded statement yesterday.
Through their lawyer, the family of Robert "LaVoy" Finicum says his shooting was unjustified. They accuse the FBI and Oregon State Police of a coverup.
Part of the statement reads:
'WE BELIEVE HE HAD ALREADY BEEN SHOT BEFORE HE EVER LOWERED HIS HANDS....WE BELIEVE SOME OF HIS HAND MOVEMENTS WERE A NATURAL REFLEX TO BEING SHOT.'
A family commissioned autopsy was performed on Finicum last weekend.
An internet radio broadcast featured the four people still occupying the refuge on Monday evening.
David Fry did much of the talking in the interview and at one point his parents were speaking to him.
Fry's father told him: "Well I'm proud of you son."
Fry responded: "Maybe this will be the last time we get to talk, but I'm glad you guys said that."
While we can all hope and pray for a better outcome the FBI side has already shown its violent and deadly intent against people the media calls 'militants', people who have not fired a shot or hurt anyone in any way resembling the real 'militants' in our world like the Islamic State and other terrorist groups.
The shooting of Finicum sure came and went quietly.
There should be a lawsuit. Immediate freedom of information demands should be issued. Legal impoundment of all evidence should be ruled, and any lost or destroyed evidence forbidden on penalty of law.
The shooting was an inconvenient optic.

It's no wonder the Hammonds went back to prison without much fuss.
Bkmrk.
When we talk about acts of civil disobedience, this is what we can look forward to.
Was Finicum armed? If so, where was the weapon located on his body?
Someone must answer those questions.....and many others.

“FBI PLANTED A 9mil FED SEMI-AUTO ON HIS DEAD BODY. FINICUM ONLY OWNED REVOLVERS, AND THE 4 STILL AT THE REUGE SAID HIS REVOLVERS ARE STILL THERE”
...............
Have seen the above surmised more than once. The 9mm sounded suspicious from the get go. Can anyone from the family or the refuge tell us if he owned a 9mm (OF ALL calibers!).
IMHO those who like revolvers do not carry both a rev. and a semi-auto at the same time. Esp. if he was not even wearing his revolver holster? For one thing it is a different thought process. Just asking . . .
