Donald Trump has found his running mate: the media.

Here’s my theory, my $0.02.
Donald has rediscovered the old adage. If dog bites man, this is not news. If man bites dog, this is news.
Our modern press, in its boredom and laziness, has often turned into a dog-biting man for its own sake. Do something new, generate some novel Kabuki dance, even if they can’t think of some legitimate way to do it. Oh the formula sells; but it also generates all manner of mischief on the side.
Enter Donald Trump. All he has to offer is a general idea, and it looks laughably simple. Make America great again. And he has some notions about how to do it that are clumsy but yet sincere. This is the man.
Now enter all our entrenched interests. They are the dogs; and normally any wise politician will pussy foot around them, because he wants their support.
Well, not Donald Trump, who is so enamored of his idea that he’ll do just about anything, step on any toe! Chomp, chomp, chomp, chomp! Arooooo, bow-wow, whiiiiine, snarl! Chomp, chomp, chomp, chomp! He’s even got Ted Cruz in his doghouse now!
And the media is like, we can’t possibly get enough mikes and cameras to this scene!
Well thought out.
Sometimes the most obvious things are the things we ignore. We’ve got a society so pumped up with willful pretense today, that something sincere, even if misguided, looks quite novel. And of all the criticism I have heard about Trump, there are many laments about how “liberal” he is, and some about how he’s a sinner, and some about shifting beliefs, but very little about actually being insincere. This has dawned on would-be Cruz supporters who more and more are seeing contemporary sincerity issues with their fellow.
There is something within us, I believe, that would sooner deal with someone who is erring but honest, than with someone who seems to mostly get the formula right but fudges the account. We can reason with the first person and we know on what basis we can reason, because he makes it clear what he believes. The second one is, in the end, an unaccountable loose cannon.
Mark my words Trump will hold a presser before the townhall on CNN tomorrow. Talk about chaos. LOL!
