Most get a raise. The rest get canned.

Full timers become part timers, so it’s a wash.

Raises right as Wal Mart stock is tanking? I think this will be retracted before the end of the month.

296 Wal Mart stores will be closed.

That means they will have lay off 14 cashiers.

Unconstitutional federal minimum wage. Tyranny with the added extra of being a business and job killer.

>>That means they will have lay off 14 cashiers.<<

But the knots of associates in the cereal aisle laughing and joking and supervising one person swapping Cream of Wheat boxes will be OK.

Look for more store closings, as a result.

I have no idea what the percentage is but the drug test blows many of the applicants away.

Walmart doesn’t have a magic money machine. These raises are paid for by layoffs.

just a bet....
since WM probably can’t afford higher total wage expenses...

1. less workers and/or
2. less worker-hours
3. cutting any remaining full-timers to Part-time (shedding the expensive ObamaCare costs)
4. more automation all around (including checkout machines)
5. closing some more marginal stores (and any in cities that impose special higher-wage rules)

gotta cut costs to compensate, especially since left-wingers are conducting what looks like an illegal boycott of WalMart stores

I have Walmart stock and wished that was the only stock tanking. They all are right now. This is wonderful by the way. We need a very bad economy going into November.

Tighter labor market because over half won’t get off of their, er, hammocks....to content to collect those hand out, er, hand up checks, every month.

See, that’s why the Dems/GOPee need all of those illegals to come in and stay....so they can do the jobs these hammock sitters won’t do :(

They don’t want to get rid of the hammock sitters, because that makes up the Dim base.

Palin called these folks out, at the Trump rally, today.

I got a laugh out of that absurd "tightening job market" line as well.
The sign of a healthy economy is when a worker can practically quit a job on a Friday afternoon and start his/her new role on a Monday morning.

That’s one of the big problems for anybody hiring truck drivers. My SILs Dad runs a dump truck operation and pays good money but the young guys can’t initially pass or continue to pass the CDL drug test reqs.
