Dog hoarding case has positive outcome

BISBEE — A case of dog hoarding had a positive outcome Thursday when the owner agreed to voluntarily relinquish 37 of her 63 dogs, who all appeared to be healthy and well-socialized according to representatives from the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, which took the dogs to be checked out, neutered and spayed and then adopted.

Kelly Galligan, president of Friends of Bisbee Animal Shelter, helped coordinate the effort after talking with the woman at her home in Bisbee Junction last month, where she was keeping 62 shih tzus and a one-eyed poodle.

“Kelly reached out to me and said we have a client who is overwhelmed,” said Kim Ward, Animal Services Supervisor with the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. “Our organization is a shelter and adoption center in Tucson.”

My wife and I used to raise shih tzus...

When our Grand Champion passed away at 13 years old, we gave it up...

No way we would have 62 of them at once...

That’s called being mentally ill..

I had a blind, diabetic American-Husky named Zeus, that was well loved.

He went through God's Heavenly gate a year ago.

63 dogs results in a lot of poop! That woman must have been busy scooping that poop. Question is, what did she do with it? A sign out front that said “Free fertilizer”?

“62 shih tzus and a one-eyed poodle. “

I don’t think you could even make a country song out of that.

Yes, they are and they are basically a very quiet dogs as well..

They start barking, normally, it's for a very good reason...
