America watched her grow up on the series, which aired from 1957-62. From a family of young actors, she was recommended by Ronald Reagan for the role.
Noreen Corcoran, who starred as the teenager adopted by her uncle (John Forsythe) on the 1950s-'60s sitcom Bachelor Father, has died. She was 72.
Corcoran died Friday of cardiopulmonary disease at Valley Presbyterian in Van Nuys, her niece, author Mell Corcoran, told The Hollywood Reporter. The actress' younger brother, Kevin Corcoran, who appeared in the 1957 film Old Yeller and played Moochie on several Disney TV shows, died in October.

RIP.
It’s one of the few sitcoms of that era I never saw in reruns. Curiously, I recall learning that John Forsythe’s future wife on “Dynasty”, Linda Evans, had a guest spot on it as a teenager.

Unlike the obnoxious, in-your-face, acting styles of child/teen stars of the modern era, Corcoran came across as quite realistic and pleasantly demure in “Bachelor Father.” It was a fairly underrated show, especially in the first few years. Filmed at ReVue studios at the same time and place “Leave it to Beaver” was.
I don’t think Corcoron did much after her series, but I do remember her in a “Gunsmoke” as a young farm wife, putting clothes on the clothesline, who gets rather unexpectedly shot and killed. A real grim episode. The main guest-star was Jay C. Flippen.

Jay C. Flippen I liked him.

Goodbye to the understated juvenile great “Moochi”, too...

Yeah, Flippen was a big star in vaudeville in the 1920s. Even made some records backed by Red Nichols. Then later, on in his older years, became a fine character actor... sometimes a nice old gent and sometimes a really mean old villain.

I liked Flippen too. I remember him most in Cat Ballou; he played the less than honest sheriff.

I had missed hearing about the passing of the younger brother, Kevin.

Never knew the two were siblings. Didn’t know or had forgotten Moochie had died. Noreen, on Bachelor Father was not often seen, but she is certainly remembered. RIP
