A pro athlete should be able to afford his own translator for important communications, and learn poquito English for basic sports related terminology.

Already the stadium dogs, the nacho chips, and other venues and drink have been toppled with the YouTube videos on how to make such things at home, fresher, more tasty, and for less money.
If you do NOT support the dog language, i.e., any other language than American Doubleday English, to be spoken at a baseball game here within the Continental 48 states, just don’t go!
The loss of revenue in concessions sales would be enough to cause a stir.
I would say about five years ago, I heard an ESPN radio host ask Joe Morgan (former baseball player, TV analyst) if society was unfair to a player (Vladmir Guerrero, I seem to recall) because he lacked proper English. Morgan, in so many words, said we are an English-speaking country and he would have to learn Spanish if he played in a nation such as Venezuela. This did not go well when liberal icon Peter Gammons was later told of Morgan’s stance. And then comes today’s mission.

That has been the way it was until now.
If a team spends millions on a player and refuses to communicate with him, then they will go out of business. More ridiculous, unnecessary, regulations.
So I guess now that having to know how to speak English/American is out now.
What about the ebonic translators?

That’s my take on it, too.
What if nobody on the team speaks Spanish? Surely those overpaid athletes can hire their own translators or at the least learn English? Or are their IQs too low for that?
Tell one of the teams to give me a call. I’m ready to change jobs.

Lots of players come from Spanish-speaking countries and have lousy English, any smart team already has a translator. This is to help them talk to reporters, the definition of not something over which to get one’s panties in a twist.
