They should have moved the deer crossing to a safer place.

Kill them with guns or kill them with cars. Those are the choices. Live and let live is not an option.

At least when you shoot them, they don’t shoot back.

I once hit a deer. At night. The critter jumped out in front of the car. I didn't see it until too late. Neither my daughter nor I were hurt (seat belts). I was able to drive home, but the insurance company considered the car to be totaled and paid the used car value.

I consider myself lucky. Hitting a deer is nothing to joke about.

I've hit at least four deer and was a passenger in a car that hit a deer broadside at 55 mph. The deer actually got up and limped off the road. I've driven through herds of deer and actually had deer hit my car instead of me knocking one over.

At one place of residence there were numerous deer crossings that I had to carefully negotiate on my way to work. I had a twenty mile one way commute. At night. Thank God I'm now retired.

Fatalities from Moose are frequent in New Hampshire. In Moose country near me, we are to travel 30-MPH through an intersection, then a sign says "Watch for Moose", next is a sign moving the speed limit up to 55-MPH, which everybody exceeds.
