I would adopt ALL the dogs.........if I could but I have 4 dogs already. Until someone passes I can’t take anymore.
Back around 2003 I adopted my first cat from a pet rescue agency. Six weeks later and over $380 in vet bills, she had to be put down due to liver cancer.
So I rescued another one that had to be returned and the agency lied to me about her. They said she was friendly and good with people when actually she was feral and not sociable at all.
So I took her back and exchanged her for my present cat Squeek and we've been together for about 12 years now.........
I’ve had six rescue dogs, and five that were not. We also donate every year to two rescue groups. I wish that I could take them all.

Sadly, there are reasons people take their pets to shelters. And, some shelter workers will not disclose the animal’s problems. A young woman I know adopted a dog, after being told it was friendly. The dog had major aggression problems and ended up being returned to the shelter. That shelter wronged you. It’s grossly unfair to you, and to the animal, to hide such problems.
I have a 14 year old dog who has to be medicated the rest of his life for heart problems. But I’ve had him since he was a pup.
Not in before someone hijacks the thread about screw the animals it’s not abortion. I cannot stand these people. Compassion and help is not a zero-sum thing.
The two rescues snoozing at my feet after their walk on the beach this morning concur.
Would you be willing to rescue me too? I can fish for you......
It’s not “ignorant”.
It’s a matter if prioritizing time and resources.
Get it?
Drink! :)
There are ways to break a dog of chasing livestock. I urge you to post a thread and ask Freepers for suggestions.

As little as I watch TV and pretty much avoid it I have watched Caesar’s Dog Whisperer Show. Hopefully people see this and learn the proper way to train a dog. Most people beat them or yell at them when they misbehave. Then, they wonder why they have a crazy dog they can’t handle and dump them at the shelter.
Your dog names are similar to ours...Baby, Sister, Little Girl, Little Boy, Paisley passed away, and our most recent rescue is Rommel.
Fred?. Love it!
All of our pets are neutered or spayed.
Actually on Cesar you’ll see the REAL problem is just the opposite. People dare not ever do anything to their animals, experienced or not. They coddle them and ignore their faults and laugh it off.
Weno longer have anything close to an “abusive” culture. Itis now all nice-nice and we reap what we sow by being push-overs.
A bit more strength of attitude with the animals would do them and society a lot of good.
People who beat the devil out of animals are few. Many, many more enable them as that has become the “proper” way to deal with them. Nothing but “nice” shows and books on “training” is available now. Even Cesar gets maligned for daring to tap a dog. Either true abuse or enabling is a poor way of handling animals - or kids. We see how pathetic society has become as a result.
Tara is a shelter dog who is currently fifteen yrs old. She is anti-social to all of our newer dogs. Her litter sister and adopted brother brother have passed on, and she does not care for the new crew. She and our youngest, Rosebug despise but tolerate each other. When Rosie first came aboard the first six months were rough and I had to let Rosie know that Tara is higher up the food chain than see is.; Rosie’s will come soon enough. The boys respect Tara right off the bat, and though they are each 125 lbs to her 60, they are careful not to jostle her.
What was interesting to me is that even though Tara keeps them in line, when we are out walking in the woods. and she decides not to join us, if she starts barking the boys disappear and go check on her before returning to me. She is still part of the pack.
God bless you for keeping your anti-social dog. It is interesting that your pup is friendly with your older dog and at least one non immediate family dog. I wonder if it could be a social standing situation with your pup.
He may be happy with things just the way they are.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!
:)))))))
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
The volunteers are asked to "foster" home the kittens between adoption days. Big mistake in our household. Wife and I kept both fostered kittens.
