Actually, this lady's defense may very well be legit. One of the
Candida species of gastrointestinal yeast can sometimes become overwhelmingly dominant in the GI tract and can crank out alcohol in the gut from the fermentation of sugar.
This bizarre syndrome--which is very rare--was discovered about 30 or so years ago (in Japan, I believe). Anyway, I first read about it in a medical book of some kind in the '80s.

I don’t think I buy this one.
My eldest is a type 2 Diabetic, I bought him a bracelet and made him wear it for his own protection in case he passed out from low sugar.
Just as I have a high allergy alert one for me.
