Christians have reacted with fury after a religious academic suggested Eve was not made from Adam's rib, but was instead formed using his penis. The theory, put forward by revered biblical professor Ziony Zevit, suggests God made Eve from Adam's baculum, or penis bone. Professor Zevit said this explains why man has no baculum, unlike most mammals, and why men don't have an uneven number of ribs compared to women.

Genetically we are programmed to have a certain amount of ribs. For this is be genetic, wouldn’t have Adam had to have not had the right amount of ribs to begin with? That’s like saying if a man gets his leg amputated his children will also be missing a leg. Not sure why it would be exclusive to one sex, either.

I think if we were just going to be logical, then a woman should only have 1 rib. When God took the rib from Adam and made woman, he made a whole person and made her just the way he wanted. God has the power, that is all we need to know. We speculate way too much, especially this academic.

Hey, I have no problem with the rib idea. To me, it doesn’t matter what bone God used to create Eve. The fact that He did so is all that matters. I’m just trying to sort out this guy’s thinking process.
