Driving through Mobile a few years ago, we were a bit surprised to see an “Africatown” freeway exit....my mind did the ‘how blatant’ thing, until I learned that there really is such a suburb.
The whole city might as well be Africatown. That is why we moved a county over in Mississippi. I think it’s named that because the last slave ship to America took port there and they were let out there because by then they were free.
That is where we go to the movies because it’s the closest one to us. We also shop there a lot and have family still there.
Africatown is not in a nice suburb. Heh.
The area where this occurred was a good place to live. The natives are restless, I guess.
