how is it possible to get a cat to stay in that position long enough to take a picture!

Apparently some cats enter that position of their own free will.

It’s not all THAT difficult.
Many cats WILL just sit like that for a while. At least the cats I know did/do.

I knew a cat that would sit like a human like that. He was a maine coon cat, and really a bit of a scaredy cat, but he’d sit like that all the time. It is weird to see.
