The Pentagon's office of Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation, occasionally referred to as the Pentagon's bean counters, helps (or tries to help) the Department of Defense keep a lid on costs by vetting or challenging the cost estimates provided elsewhere in the department. If you think the Pentagon's programs are heinously expensive, you can only imagine what they'd be without anyone double-checking the numbers.

The New Order fell victim to the lack of imagination of JJ Abrams. After 3 Death Stars, he figures he can put another into every sequel and critics and fans will lap it up.

Why did the New Order not learn the lesson of the rather dubious military value of the Death Stars? The problem with all of these modern instruments of death/destruction/technicolor, and some starships (yeah, I'm looking at you, Enterprise) is the lack of proper fusing.

Why blow up a planet when glassing the surface takes less energy and in some ways is more terrible.

Cuz they can. You could go underground and, theoretically, survive the glassing of the surface. When your whole planet is blowed up real good, then even the cockroaches get the ick.

Probably because some general was considering his post-military career and gave a sweet contract to a military lobbyist in exchange for a sweet employment gig.

It would be far more efficient to boost a few asteroids into the planets gravity well.

That would make for a pretty crappy movie though. Oh wait, it already did, it was called “Armageddon”>

The short straw is the short straw, man, quit whining and get down the hole. I'll make sure my daughter gets a better prospect in the future.

The Death Star was partially funded by resident/taxpayers of Arlington, Texas.
As far as I know, even after continuing servicing of his own debts in regards to the Death Star, Jones is still making out like a bandit.

The enterprise at least can fire a photon torpedo from miles away down the shoot or beam one into the Death Star...

Why glass the surface when poisoning it to the point of in-habitability with radioactive cobalt, cesium, and plutonium is even more efficient. A galactic technology should find alpha and omega weaponry child`s play? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_device

After what Jerry Jones did to Tom Landry I supported any team that was playing against the Cowboys. I will consider supporting the Cowboys again when Jerry Jones commits Hari Kari on the 50 yard line during the half time show at the Super Bowl.
Did I mention I do not like Jerry Jones? Perhaps I was to vague.
