Trump Likes Putin Endorsement Despite His Thuggery: ‘At Least He’s A Leader’

Republican frontrunner Donald Trump said Friday that he appreciated Russian president Vladimir Putin's endorsement of him in spite of his aggression against other countries and reported violence against political foes, saying "at least he’s a leader."

Putin praised Trump this week as "bright and talented," and Trump released a statement of gratitude about the former KGB agent. Upon calling into MSNBC's Morning Joe, Trump was asked again about the warm words.

"When people call you brilliant, it's always good, especially when the person heads up Russia," Trump said.

This relationship appears to be getting off to a good start.

Of course, there is a (vast) amount of things which could go awry, even very badly.

But at least now, the two appear to be appealing to the best in each other.

They both seem to be very aware of things, so this seems to be a good start.

We shall see.

Well played! Not fawning but friendly and tough at the same time.

I suspect these two will respect each other and probably even enjoy meeting each other although events could taint their public statements at times.

The two thugs like each other, how sweet. Trump is not bothered by Putin invading Ukraine?

I couldn’t believe all the talk about shooting down Russian jets and punching Putin in the nose during the debate. then 30 seconds later they’re talking about how weak our military has become. So they want to start a war that we’re not equipped to fight- and for what reason exactly? $$$ And then there’s the fact that we haven’t really been winning wars against non superpower nations for a while and then of course there’s the whole nuclear weapons thing. Who do they think they’re kidding and what do they think they’re going to accomplish with this nonsense?

Good news for Trump - when a "less-than-friendly", but strong leader expresses a bit of admiration, it contrasts with the ridicule he sends Obama's way. It drips of how Carter was treated by Iran and how they changed their tune a bit when Reagan was elected - leadership abilities and manhood make a difference.

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz

This is from the rest of the article (at the link)

“I’m confused,” Scarborough said. “You obviously condemn Vladimir Putin killing journalists and political opponents, right?”

Humorously, co-host Mika Brzezinski nodded her head imploringly while Scarborough asked that question, as if hoping that Trump would not hedge on the seemingly obvious answer.

“Oh, sure,” Trump said. “Absolutely.”

Trump is not unaware of Putin’s leadership (both good and bad), but he’s interacting with him well so far.

I have listened to the smarter than thou folks telling me that any endorsement for Putin should be a poison arrow for any politicians and especially Trump.
However I never heard one say that maybe, just maybe Putin is pretty anxious to go back to dealing with adults.

Putin is anxious to defeat America. He would like to see our economy destroyed, our military in disarray, and our intelligence capability completely compromised.

That is why he is supporting Trump.

And he is licking his chops at the prospect of doing the same with President Trump.

Some folks commenting on this topic remind me of the cowboy who jumped on his horse and rode off in all directions.

The talk is that Trump has “no foreign relations experience”. But he’s not even elected yet, and he’s already earned the respect of one of our toughest adversaries. The mutual respect between the two says volumes about foreign relations.

People recognize, and respect, strength...no matter what their beliefs or country of origin. Putin knows if he treats Trump like he’s bullied Obama, he’s going to get called out on it.

“Peace through strength” is not just a slogan, it holds true through every level of life. The only way America will ever be able to return to freedom without fear is to become so strong that no one, no one, will want to mess with us.

Until we stop apologizing for everything and stand strong for OUR values and OUR Constitution, we’re going to keep getting crapped upon.

We see what “weak”, “apologetic” and “indecisive” leadership has brought us, wars and conflict - even invasion of our homeland - everywhere.

The only contribution that is noteworthy from the Muslims in this country is that they kidnapped people in Africa and sold them for slaves all over. Of course, Obama never talks about that “accomplishment”, does he?

Even at a personal level, if someone incessantly bugs or threatens you, and you knock out a few of their teeth, then they leave you alone. Reagan did that to kahdafi early on and we didn’t hear a peep out of him until the libs took over again.

“Turn the other cheek”, you say? I prefer, “onward Christian soldiers” myself. All of the “love”, “common sense”, and “rhetoric” in the world are not going to quell the tide of the Islam invasion...all they understand is strength. Faced with strength and resolve, they rather surrender to a CNN news crew than fight. Sad dam Hussein went down faster than a broken elevator when faced with American forces, and Isis will do likewise...IF we ever get a leader and not a community organizer.

I couldn’t believe all the talk about shooting down Russian jets and punching Putin in the nose during the debate.

They say Trump is childish but we have the so called "serious" candidates talking in 6th grade terms about punching noses and irresponsible talk about shooting down Russian jets.

Screw them. Trump for president - the only serious candidate.

Screw that. Putin repeatedly warned the USA of terror plots over and over again to be ignored. And then he sees the USA under Obama help ISIS rise in Syria - something that Obama’s policies did on purposes or by accident as they tried to overthrow a secular dictator in favor of Islamists.
