"You can't be a Trump Republican and a Ronald Reagan Republican."
That's the tweet I sent to Jeb Bush the other day, when virtually the entire planet was united in bashing Donald Trump's call for a temporary ban on Muslim immigration to the USA.
I also tweeted another obvious truth, "If the Republican Party doesn't dump Donald Trump, the American people will.
Trump's outrageous "Muslims Keep Out" plan â apparently his policy answer to last week's terrorist attack in San Bernadino â is an embarrassment to our country and what it stands for.
It's also a serious threat to the Republican Party, because it's being used by Hillary, Democrat hacks in Congress and the Big Liberal Media to smear the GOP as the party of bigots and idiots.

“obvious truth”?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Trump is number one with a bullet.
The establishment RINO’s call Conservatives “exotics”. They can't understand why only 3% think like them.
The RINO politicians are almost as out of touch as Bernie.
He has shown that HE is out of touch by his recent hilarious statement:
“GOPDebate is over. Like the first, not one word about income inequality, climate change, or racial justice. The Rs are out of touch.”
“Bernie, bubala, Climate Change is about #57 down the list of concerns from the American people. No one talks about income inequality except scammers that want free stuff. There is more racism coming from those claiming to be the victims of it than from their imaginary ‘oppressors’.”
Vanna, sell Bernie a clue.
As far as the RINO establishment goes:
Jeb Bush is more depressing version of Willie Loman on the decline.
There isn't a "REAL" Republican in the entire GOP! Calling themselves that, when they all are SO far away from Reagan, that they might as well all switch parties.
I really enjoy being told who and what I can be and who I can vote for. Right now I’m voting for Trump just out of spite.
While I will gladly vote for Trump if nominated, please consider the following.
With all due respect to the family and supporters of Ronald Reagan, both Trump and Reagan are / were constitutionally low-information leaders imo, neither of them having a grip on Congresss limited power to appropriate taxes.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. - Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
When patriots elect Trump, or whatever conservative they elect, they also need to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support the president.
An added bonus of such a Congress is that it will probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring, activist justices.
Does George W Bush hate planes? Is W an airline bigot?
no ... you say.
But .... Isn't what Trump is proposing EXACTLY what W did after 9-11 when he halted ALL AIR TRAVEL in the US!
oh ... you forgot about that did you?
Yep, like Trump W as president after we were attacked order a halt to ALL civilian aviation!
Did that mean that W hated Planes? That W was racist against pilots? that W hated the airlines?
Of course not! It simply meant that until we could get the time to study what the issue was we were not going to allow ANY planes to fly in the entire country!
What about the constitutional right to travel freely? don't matter national security TRUMPS all.
Remember this argument the next time a liberal starts complaining about Trump and muslims.
Trump is not our candidate. He is our murder weapon. And the GOP our victim.
Go back home and continue collecting your checks from Ronnie's & Jane Wyman's trusts and pretend what you think really matters!
Michael Reagan said that? I haven’t listened to him in years but I didn’t know he went rino.
Fair enough.
Cruz is trying (almost too hard) to be Reaganesque. I appreciate that he’s trying, and sincerely so.
Smiling Jul'Hoan !Kung Bushman
Time to “drain the swamp that is DC” - ALL OF IT!
Reagan had such useless children.
Based on what I've seen with what the Republicans have done with a majority Senate, and a majority in the House, it's not Trump who is the embarrassment.
A pi$$ed off former republicrat who is tired of the backstabbing from the GOPE and ready to end the BS once and for all?
Reagan was a plain speaking, big idea, America loving, flag waving patriot. So is Trump !
Cruz gets in the weeds, uses weasel words, and that's NOT the kind of person we need as president right now. JMHO
SPOT ON !
Keep in mind that The Donald is only a Republican for purposes of convenience. It is easier to “hijack” an existing political party than to build one from scratch, just ask Ross Perot. Add to that, The Donald is not in any way to be considered a “conservative”, but he is a remarkably good libertarian. And he plays the populist angle for all it’s worth.
The Donald’s very ambiguity is what is winning him a lot of supporters, most especially from people who consider themselves to be neither “Republican” or “Democrat”. There is a huge mass of voting age people, fully eligible to vote, but whom have not voted for years if ever, that are waking up to listen to what The Donald has to say.
Wild man? Clown? Whatever, The Donald is sure one hell of an entertainer, and he knows how to sell that.
Just part of the art of the deal.
The existing Republican party hierarchy is feeling a little miffed, but what can they do? The Donald has his own money, and he has bought his ticket to ride.
Nancy wasn’t a good mother to her children and she treated her husband as a child. Oh well......
Yeah, who is the Michael Reagan and what makes hims so sure he knows what Ronald Reagan thought. The audacity of these people who have the nerve to not agree with the brilliant Trump.
I’d rather be a Trump Republican than a Ryan, Graham, McCain, McConnell Republican any day.
