Americans have short memories. For many, the recent terrorist attacks on Paris may have already slipped their minds as they focus on shopping, decorating and baking.
We interrupt this holiday season for an urgent message: These are serious times that call for serious leaders. But serious leaders are elected by serious people. And when the time comes to confront evil, many Americans are not serious people.
In the last few weeks, two Russian planes have been shot down (one by Turkey and the other by the Islamic State), French President Francois Hollande and Russian President Vladimir Putin have teamed up to destroy the Islamic State, British Prime Minister David Cameron has urged Parliament to authorize airstrikes in Syria, and the Islamic State has issued a new round of threats against U.S. cities. Meanwhile, there remains little common ground between a U.S.-led coalition that includes Turkey, Saudi Arabia and other Sunni Arab states and intends to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and a Russian-led faction that includes Iran and Hezbollah and seems determined to keep Assad in power. It's hard to shake the feeling that we're on the brink of World War III.

Should give Obama time for more rounds of golf. Seriously, of course.
It doesn’t say much for a large portion of the American people, does it? If only the POSs that elected this charlatan usurper, would suffer, that would be one thing. Unfortunately, the rest of us have to suffer for their stupidity, or complicity, depending on how you look at it.
America is a very, very powerful country.
Ordinary Americans are the richest, most powerful people in the world.
The reason I say this is because typical Americans have the luxury of turning their back on the realities that probably the majority of people who live on this Earth have to deal with. Realities of survival, of personal safety, of getting something to eat, of finding safe drinking water, of having a roof over one’s head.
And what’s even more ironic is how many of them have convinced themselves that they are the ones who are put-upon, that they are unlucky, that they live in a crummy country.
To me, the most powerful examples of this is the voting habits of the people of California, and the people of Minnesota.
Both states seem to contain people who think politics is some kind of joke, and they vote for people who present a silly face to the world, but who are in reality very dangerous misleaders who see the Constitution as an anachronism and an impediment, and who would throw it in the garbage can if they possibly could. And who hope the day will come when they can do exactly that.
This is the price of being the most successful republic in history.

If their stupidity and selfishness and all the rest only affected them, it would be fine. But we have to suffer because of the bastards.
I don’t think they’d even wake up if we had something worse than 9/11 happen again.
Almost half of the country is very lazy and has been hooked on free government handouts. The leftists are trained to play on emotions and to manipulate people in their time as defense attorneys. Then they go pro as democrat politicians.
and a big share of the rest are more interested in fantasy football, the NFL, or who’s winning Dancing with the Stars than with the islamic terror threat.
It is surprising to see such a conservative take published in such a liberal newspaper.
Reality must be a hard slap in the face for them. Maybe it is opening some eyes.
It reminds me of the joke that a liberal is a conservative who has been arrested, and a conservative is a liberal who has been mugged.
People get the government they deserve.
Yeah, well, apparently some folks- don’t know what/or who,is a conservative. Yet, the dumb azz is wellfare- recognized by lazy democrats. What say you?
Things are going to change—forces outside of the USA and the powerful elites are in play—soon terrorism will as common in America as it is in Israel. Black Radicals, MECHA< Drug cartels, ISIS and others. Then will come one horrible event—where lots of folks die—like maybe a million. Then things will change.
obama believes he is the mahdi. he will punch out a few nukes to Putin before he is scheduled to leave office.

I’m as serious as a heart attack. Try me.
We tipped over the brink in 1979 when Jimmy (the man that should have stayed a peanut farmer) Carter engineered the fall of the Shah of Iran.
The fall of the Shah led to the rise of the Shia fundamentalist Islamic State of Iran which would become an exporter of Islamic radicalism and terrorism.
The Iranian Mullahs pledged death to America for its support of the Shah and other past sins. Iran which had been a loyal ally of the US was now a bitter enemy. Iran a country that had been modernizing under the Shah now lurched backward in to its Islamic past.
Carter's complicity in the fall of the Shah pulled a much needed finger out of the dike holding back Islamic expansionist traditions going back 13 centuries.
I don't even think a nuclear strike will wake these rat bastards up for more than 3 days, before it's back to business as usual. I have a feeling we may find out. I wonder if the POTUS, and I use the term rather loosely, will call for sensible nuclear weapons control laws.

I have long thought that most people are no longer capable of thinking, but they are big on feeling. This will get me in trouble but it seems that this feeling disease is spread by women. Or maybe it is something in the water.
