Did Peter Jackson just announce that he’s directing an episode of “Doctor Who”?

The “Lord of the Rings” and “Hobbit” helmer posted a video on his verified Facebook page Sunday night teasing an upcoming directing stint on the long-running BBC series. “The Doctor’s certainly come to the right place!” the show’s official Facebook account wrote in the comments section.

Season finale is this coming Sunday.

The Doctor just spent some 2 billion years getting himself out of that castle and I’m guessing the Clara is still alive somewhere.

What a great episode the last one was.

I am sure it will be too long and over the top. Just like he ruined the Hobbit

Whatever happened to Peter Jackson’s “HALO” movie?

Well, she's listed as making an appearance in the next episode. But Jenna Coleman has already announced she's leaving the series to do some movies, so dead or alive, it's goodbye.

I was frustrated that I couldn’t figure that episode out. Huh.

Don’t mean to upset anyone, but haven’t watched since the 3rd episode with Gabaldi. Clara’s irritating, The Doctor not engaging, and way too many social issue lectures woven in.

A new director and Clara gone - I’ll give it another go.

I think it was 2 billion years of replaying that entire series of events to break through that diamond wall 2 or 3 punches at a time.

Great a one hour episode will be three hours long and the Dr will have to walk everywhere.

Took me a long time to get used to the new doctor. I'm still not over Amy Pond....never will be.

Thanks, now I have to go watch "THE AMY POND VIDEO" Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy me, which appears to have been pulled from You Tube. I'll have to search my HD's...sigh.

Amy was definitely the best, Rory was pretty good too.

The final episode was heartbreaking especially when you think about Brian and how the Dr told him that sometimes they don’t come back.

Clara needs to go away and be replaced by either someone from another planet or at least another earth century. Modern earth women are getting boring.

no, clara is dead, dead. her contract ended.

of course, that doesn’t mean she won’t be back from time to time. they’ve used her for various roles prior to being a companion

Yes, keep Jackson from dragging down The Doctor, like he screwed up LOTR and the Hobbit!

I was never a Dr Who fan - found it extremely boring.

Then I caught a YouTube snippet of the Vincent van Gogh episode w/Amy Pond. It was absolutely terrific. So I checked out the Matt Smith/Amy Pond episodes from our library and enjoyed that version of the series.

Their final episode (”Angels”) was extremely well written...but the Van Gogh episode - especially the final scene - is the best.

Very nice wrap-up of Amy & Rory:

Vincent and the Doctor is some of the best television ever made. When they took Vincent to see his work in the museum was a fantastic scene. The docent brought a tear to my eye.
