Where are all the secular liberals in the Muslim world?
I've lost count of how many times I've heard this question. The answer is both unsurprising and heartbreaking. In Muslim-majority countries, they are often being lashed and imprisoned for blogging, hacked to death in open daylight, or sentenced to death for writing poetry. Here in the West, they are often being disowned from their families, ostracized from their communities, and even murdered by their own families in "honor killings."
As for those who choose to leave the religion altogether, the outcome is even more sinister. There are thirteen countries, all Muslim-majority, where atheism is punishable by death...

I'm also happy that HuffPo, an entity I rarely agree with, actually made a point, further down, of stating that

The solution is clear - only allow ExMuslims into Europe.
In other words, moderate Muslims, if they do exist, can’t say anything. As to my own feelings, Islam is not consistent with my belief system.

Yes, an unusually astute point from this site. I was having an argument with a fellow who is a College Republican about letting in Syrian refuges (my side: don’t do it) & all he can come back with is I’m a bigot. No, Islam is evil & antithetical to a free country. They don’t even accept religious freedom for their own people, much less tolerate other religions. He never could get it, but was very pleased with himself for his own constitutional stand for freedom of religion. Idiot!
I’m always disappointed with anyone who starts throwing the word “bigot” around. It’s just an insult meant to intimidate you into silence. I try to never call anyone a bigot. I might say they are biased, but I don’t call names.

I’ve seen dozens online and it took one muslim pinging dozens to a ‘discussion’ on the facebook to back up his statements.
My error, I haven’t seen dozens of ‘former’ muslims. They are still muslims.
Maybe a couple are non-observant (atheist) muslims (by birth). They still defend the whole.
