Ohio boy, 6, suspended from school for shooting friend with imaginary bow and arrow

BY LAURIE HANNA

A 6-year-old Ohio boy was suspended from school for three days after being spotted shooting an imaginary bow and arrow.

The boy was sent to the principal’s office for engaging in make-believe marksmanship during recess at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic in Westwood, Cincinnati.

Now, his dad Matthew Miele has slammed the school, who insist they have a zero-tolerance policy to any threatening gestures.

"I don’t see anything wrong with the way he was playing, " Miele told WCPO News.

He notes that his son has never had a problem with discipline.

"The punishment is so severe that it’s hard, as a parent, to make this a teachable moment for our kid so that we can move forward."

Poor boy, doesn't he know? Only Muslims with bomb prototypes are allowed.

Let the school officials just imagine the boy was suspended for 2 weeks. Then all should be fine, right?

After this experience, he will decide to only play with imaginary friends. It is obvious that children in public schools are being subjected to abuse by mentally ill adults, whom taxpayers employ.

Was he imaginarily killt or just imaginarily maimed. Enquiring minds need to know.
Had the perp used an imaginary gun there would really be hell to pay.

Back in my day we would shoot rubber bands at each other, or paper clips. Come spring, watch out, anyone could have a water pistol concealed in his pocket or pocket book (Thats girls, guys didn’t have them in those days.) Our principal had a cardboard box full of pistols at the end of the year. You could reclaim them if you dared. I wonder if you can still play hangman in today’s schools? What the hell are we raising these days pajama boys, in a beheading world? Its time to re-evaluate.

I’m sad this is a Catholic school. Goes to show you the insanity has infiltrated them too! I have a five year old boy and would be encouraged if he and friends were playing make believe bow and arrows. Better than the nerd gun he shot at close range into the eye of a friend recently. Lol.

I guess I have several imaginary life sentences for shooting my children with my imaginary gun. Except that I imagine I’m dead because they blasted me with their imaginary blasters ...

No taxpayer money involved here. It's a parochial school.

I don’t know why someone doesn’t organize this but if I had a kid in school and this crap happened, I’d get as many parents together as possible and have a day when all the kids did imaginary handguns and bows and arrows and anything else that would result in a suspension. I’d love to see how the idiot administrators would react to having to suspend or expel 80% of the kids. They wouldn’t, they’d have to revisit these idiotic policies.

This school administrator is clearly racist against all Native American bow-using cultures and should be denounced on The View and by Melissa Harris Perry, which should cause his immediate employment termination without any opportunity for defense.

Used to be a teacher would simply say “Stop that’ and you knew it was time to move on to something else. Now the kid gets suspended 3 days and the entire world has to hear about it.

People this stupid have no business educating your kids. No one should allow these people anywhere near their kids.

Look, we feel bad about imposing our views on people, like its wrong somehow. They are totalitarians (and stupid, immoral ones at that). They have no qualms about imposing their values on your kids, and they are set up to have direct access to your kids’ minds for 12 or 16 years at your expense. Whatever you are trying to do will be largely undone and there is little you can do about it. As long as your kid is bringing “A”s home on his report card, you’ll be happy as a clam.

Get your kids out of public schools. Grandparents, you may have to help. Churches, if you don’t have a K-12 school on your premises, you should think about it. Its great to send missionaries to darkest Africa but whats the point if you lose your own kids?

I wish it had been that easy when I went to school. We had to work at getting kicked out, and then we were more likely to get our little butts paddled.

My apologies that this stupidity took place in Cincinnati. “Cowboys & Indians”—the mock war game—was one of the favorites when I was a boy. The idea of being suspended for merely making a warlike gesture strikes one as an insane attack on the normal boyish proclivity for battle games.
