Report: Nobody in the NFL wants to trade for Robert Griffin III
Yahoo ^ | November 3, 2015 | Scott Davis

With the NFL's trade deadline approaching at 4 p.m., it appears Robert Griffin III will remain on the Washington Redskins for the remainder of the season. According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, the Redskins haven't received any trade offers from other teams for the 2012 No. 2 draft pick.

As Anderson notes, the big hold-up is Griffin's contract, which has the potential to become a nightmare.

This past offseason, when Washington was still pushing for Griffin to be their starting quarterback, they picked up Griffin's fifth-year option, worth $16.2 million and guaranteed for injury. This means if another team were to trade for Griffin this year and he got injured, they'd be on the hook to pay him that $16.2 million next year.

The $16.2 MM guaranteed for injury is why RG III will never see the field this year.

What a deal.

I know players want to play, but, for not playing, he is becoming a very wealthy young man.

$16.2 million? For someone that damaged?

Not gonna happen.

Not even the Jets need someone that bad. They could get Tebow for 1/10th the price.

The people who manage these pro sports teams and pay this much money for players are just morons. No wonder it costs so much to go to a game.

Didn't the Cowboys have less than 100 yds passing this past Sunday? Tell Jerry Jones to open up his checkbook!

He’s more suited to the Buffalo offensive scheme.

RGIII is a Christian, and as such, he suffers from 'Tim Tebow Disease' (blackballed by the NFL) - that's REALLY why no one has expressed interest.

Add in what Washington traded to draft him and they made the worst deal since the Manhattans sat down with a team of canny Dutchmen.

He’s going to end up in Canada if he isn’t careful.

Imagine how much money the owners make to pay players so much. I can’t imagine.

RG III is smart. He can go to law school if he wants, as I think he planned before NFL, and live in style for as long as the money lasts. He is probably the biggest winner in all of this. Who cares if he doesn’t step on the field. I know, competitors want to compete. But as I said, he is smart.

Division leading Houston Texans are looking a backup QB.

...at a Walmart price.

(Division Leading.... just had to say it while I can!)

Again, Carolina has an outstanding back-up QB in Joe Webb. He’s better than anything the Jets, Bills, or Houston have.

Just send us a ferocious pass rusher or a receiver with hands and you gotta deal.

You are delusional. RGIII has proved himself to be injury prone, and someone who isn’t willing to do the hard work necessary to be an NFL quarterback. THAT is the reason no one wants him.

Shanahan played him before he was fully recovered and he was re-injured more seriously, but since you seem to be a strong fan of Cousins, go ahead buy your Super Bowl tickets.

There is a big difference between being a "running quarterback" in college and being one in the NFL. But essentially.... he's a lousy NFL quarterback. That is another reason nobody wants him.
