“a backhoe and a D8”

Pile of scrap metal after an EMP.

Twinkies and Spam are all anyone one needs as far as foodstuffs. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why people make things so complicated!

I think everyone but the zombies knows its almost here.

BTW....

Its been 30ish years so since I saw and I don't remember nor know the exact present figures but, a colonel wasn't a particularly well paying job, at least not by civilian standards...I hope someone at CIA/FBI knows where all these colonels are getting $3-5million. I would sure like to know.

Why? So the UN/One World can pump gasoline down on our heads too? I don’t want to be anywhere near anyplace so well known now because of the activity it would see then.

Well we don’t want to have to go through all the hassle of invading if you don’t have duck flavored ones.

That would work. You can still gas weld, too, even after the EMP.

I couldn't afford an underground bunker so I just moved to rural West TN where a big percentage of the population have large gardens, raise their own small livestock and are well armed. For a little extra safety I got engaged to a nurse who is the proverbial "farmer's daughter". She's begging me to start raising our own "critters", which is probably coming soon.

I'll also take this opportunity to highlight the book I authored, "When There is no FEMA". You have my guarantee that it's the best, most balanced and detailed modern day survival book available. That one book will save you months of culling through other sources of prepper info.

Those lyrics remind me so much of the fallout shelter era circa 1961.

Tuesday Weld, the limbo, JFK’s New Frontier, the Reds will attack first, I remember it all from when I was 12.

I made for my Dad a list of all the guns we were going to need. He said, “Fine, son, go out & earn the money and you can buy whatever you think we should have.”

A schoolmate’s Dad who was a doctor built a blastproof shelter as an annex to their basement. Ground Zero defined as the Washington Monument was about four miles away.

Then there were those Twilight Zone episodes featuring fallout shelters with all the moral dilemmas.

A powered yacht is all kinds of bad because they *depend* on diesel.

A sailboat, on the other hand, doesn’t *depend* on anything manmade. Wind is reasonably common for those few times you’d likely need to be moving.

They just suck if they run into a military (or paramilitary) capital ship.

So you’d want to be close to shore (your escape plan) if your fear was militarized warships...or far from shore if your prime concern was “zombies”.

They just had a zombie attack on Aer Lingus. One dead and at least one infected.

I’m 109 miles East of K-ville. West TN is too close to Memphis.

What we need is a hardcopy database of all these facilities, so when the time comes they can be ours.

That would be stealing.

Maybe. There is a definite possibility that that many alpha type personalities will not do well in an enclosed space, which could lead to self destructive conflict. In that event, it would be scavenging, not stealing.

That’s true; if the owners are deceased, and no lawful heirs are anywhere around, or determinable (in a SHTF scenario) then scavenging is not only allowable but smart.

But the way the original comment was phrased seemed to indicate that he (or she) would like to get there first....
