Frankenstein boots? I tried a pair on once.
I remember they were the ridiculously high price of $60.00.
It was like walking in ski boots.

Wear those in the winter around here to work outside. Didn’t know they had a name other than “work boots”. Pretty standard for farmers

They were the rage back in the day, in my area.

What's ironic (to me) is that, today, at work and for casual, this is my preferred boot.

A Sportiva Makalu.

STIFF???
Makes the old Colorado's seem like sneakers.

I work in construction. The 3/4 steel shank in the sole gives me the best support no matter the terrain. (especially for my size and weight)
The heavy padded leather gives me tremendous ankle support.

Once broken in, they are, as a buddy once described them, "like little houses for your feet".

(Oh...I remember the Colorado's were about $60. The Mak's today are about $300)(and worth every penny...to me)
