Big DS9 fan here. Especially the opening credits with that great music.

Alright I caught up last night. That is a weird damn show. Haven’t decided if I like it, but I don’t dislike it. We’ll see how the season runs.

The Inner Light is my favorite.

Yes, that was a good one.
Picard kept phasing in and out of both times. Phasing is an interesting concept that most of us Trekkies have come to assume as quite natural.

I've been a Trekkie since 1966. I loved'em from the get-go.

Next Generation first season is completely unwatchable.

Q:”You punched me. Picard never punched me.” Sisko: “I’m not Picard.”

I didn't like that episode at all. The female lead was a royal pain and I wished NOTHING but bad stuff for her.
Also the Ferengi episodes were MOSTLY annoying.

Star Trek has hung on for WAY longer than anyone imagined. They stood the test of time. No one predicted their longevity. Not every single episode was a gang-buster but they sure beat the heck out of many of the latest films.
I RARELY go to the movies nowadays.

It’s like me always wanting to toss the 1996 ‘Doctor Who’ TV movie out of the canon. But it’s canon and there’s nothing I can do about it.

Part of being a fan is taking the good with the bad. You don’t have to watch it, but you need to accept it. I’d prefer a Star Wars without midichlorians, but they’re canon so I deal. I’d prefer a Trek without the Ferengi (just a comedic version of the Orions in my book) but they’re canon so I deal. And part of my love of the Orions is based on what they did with them in the RPG, which isn’t canon, so there you go. You just hope that somebody winds up in charge of the property that agrees and they at least down play that thing if not jettison it completely. And as these things all enter their 3rd generation that’s possible, one of these days somebody that played the Trek RPG will be in charge, and maybe they love Orions too.
