True and False Guilt [Attack on Columbus Day is an attack on God Sovereignty and Christianity]

Another Columbus day has come and gone and those who resent Western Civilisation have used the occasion to try to shame us into a state of collective guilt for being happy about the discovery of the New World. Tongue in cheek indeed, they mockingly say that the way to celebrate the day Columbus set foot on an island in the Caribbean, would be to take someone else’s house, or to give them a case of smallpox. There are many who are even calling for October 11 to become a national day of mourning for what Europeans have done to indigenous people the world over.

What is this really all about? It is another example of something I referred to in an earlier article called “godless righteousness” , the false religion of the irreligious left. Based upon the premise that man is incurably religious, and that western culture has been largely informed by the Christian ethic, the article points out that the godless left have their own secular religion, complete with a version of an Eden, the Fall of man, and categories of sin and Righteousness.

Sin is not personal, it is corporate to the left. It doesn’t matter what you do personally, what matters is either your political views, or your group status. A Bill Clinton will be defended to the hilt , even by feminists, He is “righteous” according to godless Righteousness, because he holds to the ‘right’ positions. Any kind of victim status, (as long as your group were at any time in the last two thousand years ever victimized by Europeans), is Righteousness. Regardless of personal behaviour, victim status makes one inviolable unless a member of the victim class adapts conservative beliefs. Clarence Thomas comes to mind.

Guilt is collective also. The West is found guilty of oppression, slavery, exploitation, and worse crime of all, guilty of a large measure of success. We are to feel guilty, perpetually. In this false faith system, no atonement is possible, not the fact that the British outlawed the slave trade and fought pirates and slave traders, nor the fact that the United States fought its bloodiest war to eradicate slavery and to live up to its founding documents. Affirmative action, preferential hiring, group privileges, double standards, Trillions of dollars of transfer payments later and the guilt only grows.

There are no living slaves, nor are there any children alive of living slaves but you would think that slavery was and is a living, daily reality, if you listen to Hollywood and the rest of the “church of godlessness’.Of course there is slavery today but we can’t mention that because it isn’t western slavery, its third world slavery where you can buy a slave in the Sudan, from Arabian slavers for 15$! OOps, wrong collective, nothing to see here, move along! It works though, because even though the west for the most part, unfortunately has abandoned christianity, ‘polite society’ still has a conscience affected by the Bible. Therefore we apologise, and apologise and apologise. We can be made to feel guilty, we will pay out, we will try to rectify the situation, We try to correct history (although that is impossible). This makes us vulnerable to false guilt.

Have you noticed that for the most part this only works in the west? Why haven’t Muslims been made to apologize for the unspeakable slaughters they have performed? It wouldn’t enter their mind! How about asking black tribes in Africa to repent of selling other blacks into slavery/ it will never happen because there is nothing there to resonate with them. The two things which make Europe, America, Australia, South Africa and the rest of the western world susceptible to false guilt is, the abandonment of Christianity, which is the only true analysis of guilt and atonement, and Humanistic pride, by which we have discounted the Sovereignty of God, which underlies the true meaning of history.

Christianity, rightly understood, deals with true guilt, personal sins are exposed, they are defined in relation to God, when admitted, they are satisfactorally dealt with,(Jesus died as an offering for us), forgiveness is real, personal and impartial. All sins are against God, and atonement is from God and to God alone! A person truly forgiven of his own sins, and made right with God through the cross of Jesus, is not going to be made to feel guilty that Pizzaro slaughtered the Aztecs! They aren’t going to “shamebased” into subservience to a left-wing agenda because of events five hundred years ago.

The other problem that makes us susceptible to this is our pride. We used to believe that God ruled in the affairs of men, therefore history is the simple out working of his plan. If the cowboys supplanted the Indians, ultimately it was God who allowed it. You know that those supplanted Indians supplanted other Indians who supplanted other Indians. Too many people get their history from Disney’s Pocahantas! History is ugly, it’s like making sausage, because all men are sinners, and do ugly things to each other. But there is a purpose in history that God is working out in spite of man’s sin, God is Sovereign and even uses the “Wrath of man” to praise Him!

"For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.(Psalm 75)

Humanism makes man Sovereign, man can fix anything, we can right every wrong, we can even repair history! But it’s only the west that is made to feel false guilt, and I suspect that this is because Satan is using the ‘godless righteousness” of the left to fight against Christianity. But we know who will have the last say.

"And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? (Daniel 4:34-35)

I was on the receiving end of the Columbus was a terrorist tripe a few years ago from my son who was in college at the time.

I asked him—since the US was so suck—where he was going and, more importantly, when he was leaving.

I also pointed out that the US dollars which were funding his education and supporting his lifestyle would be stopping immediately.

Never heard another peep out of him.

Many of my Jewish friends view Columbus as “sent from God”. The same year Jews were kicked out of Spain, Columbus discovered America and Jews were able to move to the new world and start over in peace. Additionally, freedom and civilization are interesting things. It stops tribes from eating each other and practicing human sacrifice. It brings order and personal accountability and ownership.

If Columbus had not sailed in 1492, the New World would have still been found In April, 1500 AD. Brazil was claimed for Portugal on the arrival of the Portuguese fleet commanded by Pedro Álvares Cabral.
