Your Predictions On New Fox Comedy"Grandfathered"?Anyone Anxious To Watch It?

Posted on 09/27/2015 6:18:11 PM PDT by Cruz_West_Paul2016

Most comedy series in general don't last very long on any network. Anyone remember what happened to "The Mindy Project"? By now most of us have seen the promo ads for "The Grandfathered" starring John Stamos. It was not funny or anything original to laugh at like we were during the Seinfeld years. So what do you want to give it? Two episodes before Donald Trump fired Stamos? Maybe Three? I think most viewers are no longer jumping up and down in sheer giddy over John Stamos.

One season or less. Just by the commercials alone.

But then, I think that goes for most new “comedy” shows.

The last major network's entertainment shows I watched were Weakest Link and Millionaire...IIRC that was about 20 years ago.

We have not watched a sitcom in 20 years. They are trash.

especially Modern Family,,,what a dismal failure....producers were trying to make it look as the modern day Seinfeld. I used to hear the ads for it on the radio and just couldnt see how anyone found it humorous.

“The Mindy Project”.

*snort*

Words fail. Not just that someone thought that this was a valid and/or interesting concept, but that someone higher up actually condoned the final production going forward.

Never watched it, and willing to bet whoever did are nothing more than braindead elitists who are proud of the fact that they are presenting an “enlightened” programme for all to see.

The fact that some people actually LIKE such programmes is quite depressing, actually.

"But then, I think that goes for most new “comedy” shows."

I started watching this show last year about some Chinese-Americans or something who moved to a mostly white town in Florida. While the Chinese (?) family were all modern, with it, hip kind of people, all the whites were stereotypical, clueless white people.

The intent of the writers was: oh see, look at all these mindless, bigoted white people who just don't understand minorities. Not one original idea or laugh.

Yep.

I believe that would be ABC’s “Fresh off the boat”.

I avoid their nonsense like most of them for I expect the kinds of things you just pointed out.

you could almost see the ad looking for Mindy:Wanted, fresh young female actress, must be 1/4th white, 1/32nd Black, 1/25th Indian, 1/56th Japanese and 1/100th dumb bitch.

Probably some mucked-up version of “you ain’t black so you cain’t play like you is”.

Not like a black girl auditioning to play the lead on “Annie”, because then if she is refused there would be cries of “racism” all about the place.

You left out ‘kind of slow-witted and more than a bit tubby to effectively play the part’.

At least they pulled that last bit off.

Will this comedy include the FOX three stooges: BAIER, KELLY, and WALLACE?

haven’t watched a network sitcom since Seinfeld. nothing but dreck, just like the rest of network shows.

The things we howl at are not on sitcoms, but lines and situations on shows like “Sherlock”, “Midsomer Murder”, “Doc Martin” and “Californication”.

You laughed at Seinfeld? Seriously? I have watched episodes over the years and have barely gotten past a chuckle.

I’m older, OK?. The ads for the show don’t entice me to watch. .....I also admit that I’ve never watched an episode of Seinfeld, as I remember back when he was a young standup comic and he wasn’t funny then.

Sitcoms today can’t match those of years ago, like Soap, Taxi, Cheers (I watch on Hallmark on early weekday mornings).

Political Correctness has totally ruined the sitcom industry that employs real people. Animated comedy like South Park can still do well without the PC interference.

We recently stumbled on Tim Allen’s Show, Last Man Standing. His solid conservative personality and jokes about political correctness, Obama and the rest are fun to see on network TV .
