Apple iOS 9.0 Download Is Available Now

Apple iOS 9.0 is available now. It has all types of updates including Siri's that can do a lot more than in the past, maps, automated battery management so your device battery will last longer, etc....
Here is what I had to do in order to download it.
1) You have to have a WIFI connection to download.
2) Make sure your device is plugged in the wall too.
3) Go to your "Settings" App
4) Go to "General"
5) Go to "Software Update" and you have to "Agree" to the new policy in order to download it.
**Notes**
Both my devices (iOS 6 and iPad Air) initially received a pop up message that said I could not download it, and I had to go back to my settings. After doing that a couple times with no success..... I rebooted both devices (turn them off. Wait 1 minute, and turn them back on) and then did the above steps 1 through 5.
**Warning**
It takes a while to download. Perhaps a lot of people are downloading it right now. Once you have it then you have to install it. It's a slow install too.

Be the first to try it, what could go wrong?

1) You have to have a WIFI connection to download. I always upgrade via iTunes and my PC, to ensure that a full phone backup is made prior to upgrading the OS. Can you not do this for this version?

Beta versions of it have been out for about 3 months.
So it should be okay, but granted there is risk.

It will let you back it up just like previous versions.
I have a back up on copies on my PC too.

I’m downloading it on my iPad Air 2 right now. Our DSL wi-fi is not the fastest so I’m sure it will take a while.
I’m curious to see how having two apps running side-by-side will work.

Thanks for the reminder I forgot... LOL!
Anyway I just did the side by side. Pretty cool.
1) Bring up your browser
2) Then swipe from right to left and it comes right up

Im downloading it on my iPad Air 2 right now. Our DSL wi-fi is not the fastest so Im sure it will take a while. We have a 16Mb per second download speed from Comcast and it took about 8 minutes using that while watching TV.

Ahhh U see we both posted about minutes apart.
I did a search on Apple before I went to post. Oh well...
So far I like it. What do you think?
To: Enlightened1
Well, I have it running on my iPad Air now (and will soon have it running on the iPhone 6).
One thing I don't like is the way they changed the interface to close open apps. I liked the way they implemented that in iOS 8.x versions.

I just opened multiple Apps, and then hit the home button 2 times rapidly.
At that point I swiped from left to right, and noticed it was very fluid the way it works now.
Then I swiped up to close the programs if that is what you referring to closing programs? Anyway, tThat’s how I always closed programs in iOS 8.x.

iOS 9 runs on all the same hardware that ran iOS 8 as well as a few of the things introduced at Apple's September event. Generally speaking, that's great. The iPhone 4S and iPad 2 both showed up in 2011, though both were sold up until last yearmost other mobile devices that came out that long ago have long since stopped receiving software updates. The complete list:
- The iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, and 6S Plus.
- The iPad 2, third- and fourth-generation Retina iPads, both iPad Airs, and all three iPad Minis.
- The fifth- and sixth-generation iPods Touch.

So far I like it. What do you think? So far, so good. I notice my screen in iBooks is different. Not sure what else is, though. Gotta look farther. I've installed it on both my iPhone 6 and my iPad Air, time will tell.

The switch to the San Francisco font--the same font used on the Apple Watch--in iOS 9.0 does take some getting used to, though.
