I’m going to wait for my 4K Roku. Coming Soon, I think.

Sorry Siri, after yelling at liberal Fox News hosts, you'd find my voice unrecognizable

Apple introduces “revolutionary” technology already offered by Roku... and an iPen that came with my Note 3 and didn’t even cost me $100.
Epic day.
But I guess that’s just FUD.

"Apple introduces revolutionary technology already offered by Roku..." Yeah IIRC Amazon had the voice controlled TV Box for a year or more now...

I just hope it will have a dedicated digital audio output.

of course, i’ve had a 48” HD TV for years... and haven’t turned it on much over the last few years.
another DOA product to be trumpeted by the fanbois as the next greatest thing

Please - no more Apps. Can’t shut them off; they turn themselves back on, try to update, constantly glitch Win 10 anyway.

Apple fanbois & sodomite lovers.
Market wasn’t impressed - stock price dropped after this “extraordinary” announcement.

Yeah IIRC Amazon had the voice controlled TV Box for a year or more now... Apple is playing copycat but it has a built in pool of potential fanbot buyers. They will buy something that has an Apple label slapped onto it but not Amazon in this case

If I am not mistaken this is already offered by Amazon Prime TV and Roku.
Having both I see nothing new under the sun and predict that tweaking smart phones, tablets and introducing a TV all at the highest price in the industry is kind of a yawn.

Don’t keep up with this sort of thing much. What is the source of the signal, or programming for Apple
TV? Is it over the internet, or from cable and satellite channels?

If Apple can induce “channels” to be sold as Apps this will (eventually) be transformative.
But Tim Cook lacks a Reality Distortion Field, so getting content providers to give up the gold mine that is cable may prove difficult.
