A 65-year-old man was killed and a woman seriously hurt when they were attacked by two pit bulls in Southern California, police and local media said on Wednesday.

Horrible way to go...being mauled to death by two Pit Bulls.
The dogs should immediately be put down, and the owner may be facing charges criminally (depending on the situation) and massive civil liability.
Animal shelters are FULL of Pit Bulls.. WHY? BECAUSE EVEN THEIR OWNERS BECOME AFRAID OF THEM!!!

When my son was a few months old, my mother-in-law wanted to baby sit her new grandson. I was all for it, but I made one stipulation. The family dog needed to stay outside.
This dog was a malcontent from the word go. No matter how nice you were to it, it barked, growled, and stood ready to attack.
There was no way I would allow that dog in the same room with our baby.
Went over to pick the kid up after her first baby-sitting stint, and there the dog was, inside the house in the same room with our son.
That was her last baby-sitting stint.
Sad to say, I couldn’t take the kid back and risk his life on that sort of situation.
Boy was I the great Satan for that. Never felt one tinge of guilt over it.
Some here show extremely high aptitude for being a South Park comedy writer..

I hate to agree as I am all about personal freedom but there are so many breeds of dog to choose from who will protect you and your property without being a menace to society. Pittbulls need to be banned.

I’ll bet your wife was upset, or at least pretended to be, just to keep her Mom happy. You did the right thing. This lady is like many pet owners, and doesn’t believe you about the danger. Danger? Not with my ‘Baby’!
But.. But... pit bulls are best, sweetest, smartest, most family friendly dogs in the history of the world! It’s all in how they’re raised! /sarrrcccc
