Horrible way to go...being mauled to death by two Pit Bulls.
The dogs should immediately be put down, and the owner may be facing charges criminally (depending on the situation) and massive civil liability.
Animal shelters are FULL of Pit Bulls.. WHY? BECAUSE EVEN THEIR OWNERS BECOME AFRAID OF THEM!!!

Carry weapons with you at all times.
You never know when you are going to need one.
Pepper spray, baton, knife and a gun if you are licensed to, which I am not.
Do not make yourself look like a weak and inviting target. Not to pit bulls or any other similar aggressive feral creature.
If you feel threatened, take action.

i went for a run on a trail in a local canyon yesterday. about a mile up I came upon what appeared to me to be a large pit bull (or similar breed) unattended on the trail.
it approached me as I passed but fortunately seemed to have a good disposition. then I heard it’s out-of-sight owner say the words “he/she/it won’t bite”. I almost laughed because it’s so predictable and I’ve heard it so many times from irresponsible dog owners.
I yelled back at the guy “that’s what they all say” and let him know that if his dog had bit me I would have sued his a$$.
and the canyon has recently been posted “No Guns”. not like I want to run with my pistol anyway.
NOBODY ever has the need to carry a gun.

I keep dogs the size of lions (mastiffs) , none of them are alpha dogs .
I am the leader of the pack , not the dogs and I have never had to mistreat any of them to get them to behave this way.
Most people can not do this , are not capable of doing this and SHOULD NOT keep these type dogs . It is how you raise them and how they have been bred .
I don’t like pits , it’s the terrier instinct in the pit I don’t like .
Most people who buy them buy them for all the wrong reasons
That said black pits have been bred a lot more carefully than any of the others and are much better dogs

Unlike my AK-47, dangerous dog breeds can actually escape my control and go kill people by themselves...
