A Metairie woman who reported finding an injured man by the road on Christmas Eve pleaded guilty Wednesday (Sept. 2) to vehicular homicide, for driving impaired when her vehicle struck and fatally injured him. Jennifer Kuzma, 25, will spend five years in prison for the hit-and-run wreck that killed Travis Burns, 27, along North Causeway Boulevard in Metairie.
Kuzma initially told authorities she found Burns in the 1400 block of North Causeway while she was walking Dec. 24 shortly after 1:30 a.m. But hours later in New Orleans, Kuzma filed a police report stating that her car had been parked on 10th Street and was vandalized overnight.
When she took the vehicle to a Metairie repair shop on Dec. 26, the shop's manager called the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, citing inconsistencies in Kuzma's account of how the damage occurred. Workers found hair in the shattered windshield and a damaged hood and roof.

That’s a woman? That is the identical twin of a guy in our office. I mean, IDENTICAL. When I first saw the photo, I said out loud (to my dog), “I know that guy!”
