Tim Gardner was watching proudly as his wife was interviewed on the local news Wednesday morning when suddenly all hell broke loose. Gardner's wife Vicki, executive director of the Smith Lake Mountain chamber of commerce, was trying to promote an upcoming event in a segment on Roanoke, Virginia news station WDBJ when a disgruntled former reporter shot dead the journalist and cameraman who were interviewing her. Mrs Gardner was also shot in the back, but survived the attack after being rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. On Thursday, her husband Tim appeared on the Today show to talk about the horrifying attack and give an update on her condition. Mr Gardner says he was watching his wife on TV when he saw the execution unfold. In the live broadcast, WDBJ reporter Alison Parker, 24, is seen interviewing Mrs Gardner when eight shots rings out. The shocked women then duck and screams are heard as the camera falls to the ground, and a man dressed in all black levels a gun at the camera. 'I immediately tried to call her on her cellphone and there was no response,' Mr Gardner recalled. 'The next time I spoke to her was when she called me from the ambulance. We never know, for sure. Car, heart attack, some freak accident or event. Life ends suddenly and without (much) warning for many people.
Hooyah
True. Luckily, I had time to say goodbye.

Ditto to that. I lost my wife of 55 years to leukemia on My 30, 2013. I'm still bitter.
People keep telling me that God has a plan. I believe it, but I don’t have to like it.
We are all going to die, the rest is just details. More often than not, that transition isn’t pleasant. The best we can hope for is to choose our future address.
