Apple has determined that, in a small percentage of iPhone 6 Plus devices, the iSight camera located on the back of your iPhone 6 Plus has a component that may fail causing your photos to look blurry. The affected units fall into a limited serial number range and were sold primarily between September 2014 and January 2015.
If your iPhone 6 Plus is producing blurry photos and falls into the eligible serial number range, Apple will replace your devices iSight camera, free of charge.
If your iPhone 6 Plus is in working order and exhibits the symptom described above, use the serial number checker to see if it is eligible for this program. Tap Settings > General > About to see your iOS devices serial number.

Had this replacement done about a month ago at the Apple Store. Left it there for an hour while they worked in it, and they didn’t charge anything.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
Thanks for the experiential validation. . . I think it must be in the iPhone 6plus image stabilization system. The iPhone 6 doesn't suffer from this problem.
As I feared...it must be me. Serial number on my iPhone 6Plus is ‘not eligible’.
So, as Mrs PubliusMM reminds me, I take blurry photos.
Samsung cell phones are better . They will melt from overheating but the camera is better.....
The serial number you entered is not eligible under this program because either:
- Its not in the affected serial number range.
- Our records show that your iSight camera has already been replaced.
- Our records show its no longer eligible for a free replacement under this program. If you have questions, please contact Apple.
Only in a couple of specs, like number of pixels. However, professional photographers give the nod to the iPhone cameras for overall picture quality because the light gathering capability is better. Number of pixel resolution is not necessarily the best test of "better."
That does not necessarily mean that your camera is not suffering from the problem. I'd take it in and let Apple determine if it is operating correctly. It's possible you have an outlier.
I just got the 6 last week..
You should have no problems with the 6. It's the 6 plus delivered between September 2014 and January 15 that Apple is recalling, not the 6.
Oh, I know. I have had an iPhone since they first came out. I doubt I’ll ever get a different phone..
