What can you say about this one? Wayne gives us a sendoff like only he can, and brings along a lot of great old friends for the ride (Richard Boone, Bill McKinney, etc.) One of the most satisfying final showdowns in a western, too. 8/10.
The widescreen video is just a tiny bit "stretched", but picture and sound are otherwise just great.

In MHO the movie Wayne should have gotten a Oscar for.

It’s one Wayne’s best performances, no question about it.

Correction: It’s “JB Books” not “JB Brooks.”
One of my all-time favorite movies.

Hah. Beat you by ten whole seconds. :-)
To: DemforBush
Clint Eastwood’s character in ‘Gran Torino’ reminded me a little of this movie.

If I hadn’t gone for the reference I would have beaten you. I was only ten seconds from a clean getaway!

It also featured cameo roles by Hugh O’Brien and other A-list actors. It tells a great story about an aging gunfighter dying of cancer just as the 20th century opened. Wayne also knew he was dying of cancer at the time.
