Macworld UK ^ | August 19, 2015 | by Keir Thomas

Windows 10 is the best Windows yet but Apple has nothing to worry aBout yet.

ne’s just been released while the other will be with us in a month or two but which is best if we compare Windows 10 and OS X 10.11 El Capitan? We take a look, comparing features, security, performance, usability and more.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan vs Windows 10 comparison Here at Macworld UK we’re mighty excited about the upcoming release of OS X 10.11 El Capitan but that’s not to say that we don't like to keep an eye on rival platforms, such as the also all-new Windows 10.

Windows 10 hit the world’s hard drives at the end of July 2015 and has been making Hawaii-sized waves, with folks saying it might be the best release since Windows XP. Below we compare what we now know about both Windows 10 and OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Because El Capitan is still in beta our examination is speculative at best but even so we think we’ve identified the winner. (Hint: It ain’t Windows.)

Win 10 is now on my one remaining Windows PC in the house.

It’s greatest virtue is that it got Windows 8.1 Professional out of my sight.

Aside from that, to me it’s a yawner, taking me a bit back to what I liked about Win 7.

The new browser is a part of Win 10 to dislike.

Why support an organization (Thimmy Cook) that proclaims homosexuals are “God’s special people” even though He stated that lifestyle choice is so evil it’s an obamanation?

A pure satanic culture that openly rejects God..and truly the fellow traveler of Planned Butcherhood.

They have their own and they brand them with supercilious terms such as "Siri."

For all the gesticulating over Windows X, you'd think they were the only "spy game" in town. If you're using a Mac or Android device, you're about as safe as a hen in a foxhole.

Can you tell me that the guy who sold you your car isn't gay? Or the checkout clerk at the supermarket? Or your mailman, car mechanic, or the maid at the last hotel you stayed at?

You can't.

Your delusional focus on the life of one person– and the way they choose to live– says more about you than it does about him. Get a life.

Thimmy openly pushes & promotes his satanic evil and flat out lying what God has stated.

Obviously, you are so “tolerant” you submit and obey. Lucifer is proud of you.

Looking forward to El Capitan release. Yosemite works fine however,

My problem is with Adblock Plus. It works, but literally stalls on sites that have 20-50 ads! Thus I avoid being blasted with ads, but 'puter slows to a crawl. Or stops even. Frustrating, that's all.

Perhaps El Capitan will somehow work better with Ad Block Plus.

I’m not familiar with the biblical instruction to sit in judgement of others... good luck with that.

Good point. I once listed to a lady who said she wouldn't shop at Safeway because it was owned by Mormons. So, I asked her how she would bless her enemies, as commanded by Christ?

Windows, always playing catch-up to Apple's OSX. This statement says it all:

That’s the problem with playing catch-up -- while Apple is skating to where the puck is going to be, Microsoft’s spending all its time and energies skating to where it believes the puck already is. When it gets there it finds out it’s actually skated to where the puck used to be but has long gone.

I gave up on Windows because of it being kludgy with crashes and virus attacks. I hear it's better now, but no thanks.

I don't know if MAC spies on its users or not. . . I don't use cosmetics, MAC or any other brand. You'll have to ask them.

I do know for a fact that Apple Mac OS X computers do not spy on their owners or users. . . customer privacy is very important for Apple

.

Hi Sword,

I think this is really an Apple/Mac thread, from an unabashed pro-Apple site (MacWorld UK), and with a foregone conclusion. Calling in the Windows crowd is asking for them to trash the useful things the thread has for Apple/Mac folks. I mean,...

Windows 10 is the best Windows yet but Apple has nothing to worry about yet...

Which is best if we compare Windows 10 and OS X 10.11 El Capitan?

Here at Macworld UK we’re mighty excited about the upcoming release of OS X 10.11 El Capitan but that’s not to say that we don't like to keep an eye on rival platforms, such as the also all-new Windows 10.

...our examination is speculative at best but even so we think we’ve identified the winner. (Hint: It ain’t Windows.)

Seriously... I don't think there's enough popcorn in both the UK and USA for what that kind of "comparison" would bring on. :-)

Still hoping for an independent / objective / unbiased comparison one of these days. But damn, it's hard to find!
