See the 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise in 271 357 photos

Our man on Woodward Avenue is shooting everything, and we'll be updating all weekend

In past years, we've broken our Woodward Dream Cruise photos into chunks, showing you imports, Fords, Chevys, Mopars and just plain weird stuff in individual galleries. This year, we're covering the "world's largest one-day car show" a little differently: Call it the "shotgun approach." We'll put up as many huge galleries as our servers will handle, and you can sort through the insanity any way you like. As for captions that specifically identify each car ... maybe we'll get to that after the event.

There's also something going on out in California this weekend -- if Monterey and Pebble Beach are more your cup of tea, check out our coverage here.

The official Dream Cruise is on Saturday, Aug. 15, but as you'll see from the mass of photos we've already shot, the fun started days, if not months, ago. We'll also be active on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram from the Avenue, so join us to keep an eye on all the fun!

I generally don't do doubles on the same subject but if you love cars you need to check the pics out. They'll be coming in all weekend.

I like a lot of the old pickup trucks. Just the basics.

Indeed it is!!! This is a montage.....the trucks form one photo...the barrels are from another ... the driver another photo,,,and the landscape...yet another

this is the pickup I was talking about in the earlier post.

the owner used to drive it past my place twice a day!

the "montage" I used the finished,,,pasted up "montage" on a client .who sells barrels to the wine industry website.

I love cars despite not having more than basic knowledge of working on them.

Thanks for the post/links, ‘creek. Good stuff and a great weekend weather-wise for metro Detroit. I might cruise over to downtown Pontiac tomorrow after work (about 15 minutes away). I was never into cars, but I marvel at the people who have saved/restored them. Americana/freedom. There’s lots to like.

It’s beautiful. Stunningly beautiful. I’m not that interested in cars or trucks myself (they simply are tools that I use), but the amount of love that these people pour into their vehicles is jaw-dropping. At 7:45 am, before the Dream Cruise started, I saw a couple of cars (one old Mustang in particular) that were so beautiful I wanted to weep in joy.

Thanks 1rudeboy. I never did make it over there. I worked a little over and just wanted to go home. I have friends down there with cars on display. I’ve enjoyed it many times in the past. The author, I know personally. I saw some classics cruising down M-59 (Highland Rd.) on my way home from work. Thanks for your post. I agree 100%. Well-stated.

They’re still adding pics.

Personally I’d like to see this become bigger.
