Prosecutors in Germany have charged a doctor with negligent bodily harm for declaring a 92-year-old woman dead, only for her to awaken again in a refrigerated room at a funeral home.
Essen prosecutor Birgit Juergens said Tuesday the 53-year-old doctor, whose name wasnt released in line with privacy regulations, could face anything from a fine to prison time if convicted.

Loud and unexplained screaming from the morgue?!! I bet that scared the ‘strudel’ out of those preparing to autopsy her.

I think I’ve seen a few horror movies where that happened.

Juergens says she died two days later in a hospital from heart disease unrelated to the incident. And I have an option on the Washington Monument for sale.
To: nickcarraway
That is too bad. The average 90+ year old German has already lived through a lot of horror.

Vivisepulture ping.
(Technically a vivisemisepulture.)

This happened to my family...fortunately Grandma didn’t make it to the funeral home, although they had been called for “pick up.”
My Dad arrived at the hospital after having been notified of her “death” via phone by the staff and immediately realized that she was still living.
Meanwhile, I had been charged with calling all of my cousins (which I did); then I got to make the second phone call: “Hey, sorry! Grandma’s not really dead!”
I kid you not. She lived for several more months...and we never did tell her that she had “died.”

This stuff never happens in America. Usually its in India or Latin America

How do they know she wasn’t actually dead when pronounced so? Sometimes they come back...it happens.

In a perfect world, we could do with more Tiffany Poon pings and fewer vivisepulture pings, but once we added 'vivisepulture' to the FR lexicon we can't seem to go two months without a vivespulture thread.
I need to carefully consider some of the other obscure words that for some reason stuck in my 'you know, someday this extremely specific word may become useful' filter. I should use one or two bizarre bait words to bring in a slew of post on some other slightly off-kilter but interesting topic.

I can’t say my life is better now that I’m aware of vivisepulture, but it has more syllables.
