THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN BIBLICAL PROPHECY
Steve Collins ^ | 2009

Posted on 07/21/2015 8:02:49 AM PDT by ConservativeMan55

Just read a very interesting article from an author regarding the United States in biblical prophecy.

The article is long but I'll sum up his claims this way.

He claims that the United States is actually the 'Israel' mentioned in the Bible. And that modern day Israel should actually be known as Judah.

If his claims are correct this would change the way we view prophecy as well.

Especially Russia's invasion. This would mean Russia would invade modern day United States, not Israel.

Ezekiel 38:17 states that the “Gog-Magog” prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39 has parallel biblical prophecies about this same event which were written before Ezekiel’s time. One of the other prophecies about this great attack against the people of “Israel” in the latter days is found in Joel 2. Joel 2:1 states its prophecy will be fulfilled in “the Day of the Lord,” another biblical phrase about the latter-days which will climax our current age. It foretells a great war and climactic signs in the heavens (verse 10). Joel 2:17 calls for God’s people to pray to God fervently for deliverance from an invading army which will attack from the north (a theme paralleling Ezekiel 38:15-16). Like Ezekiel 38, Joel 2:27 identifies the people being invaded from the north in the latter days as “Israel” (the name placed on the “nation and company of nations” of Manasseh and Ephraim). Clearly, Ezekiel 38 and Joel 2 are parallel prophecies which both prophesy about a major invasion of “Israel” from the north in the latter-days. Notice another item in verse 20.

I have attached the article for a further look.

This does make sense as some have said the Cold War with Russia never ended.

If so.. Russia is eventually planning on invading the US of A.

REPLACEMENT Theology.
It’s a crock. God isn’t through with Israel. One of these days tbeir Messiah will set foot on the Mount of Olives....and rule the world from Jerusalem for 1,000 years. Then comes the Final Judgment, followed by New Heavens and a New Earth, where there has never been and never will be any sin. Then Eternity begins for real.

British Israelism (or Anglo-Israelism) is very speculative. It makes use of verbal resemblances and legend to maintain that the people of northwestern Europe are descended from the ten lost tribes of Israel. It was popular during the heyday of the British Empire among those who predicted the eventual worldwide hegemony of English-speaking culture. Its chief representatives today are connected with remnants of Herbert Armstrong’s Worldwide Church of God.

Many (but not all) British Israelite adherents allow for the idea that the Jews are authentic descendants of the tribe of Judah. Others deny this.

This is a view with no merit. If you read Romans 9-11 you'll find God's word promises He will deal with Israel when He's finished with the nations other than Israel.

A really good book on the USA in prophecy was written by a former chaplain at Moody Bible Institute named Dr. Franklin Logsdon. It's called, Is the USA in Prophecy?

It's been out of print for many years, but you may find a conservative pastor somewhere who has a copy, or, less likely, it may be in your local library, if they don't throw things away.

I have seen it listed by some Indian (as in the continent of Asia) writer, revised and updated. But I can't vouch for that work, not having read it. And that was years ago, too.

Even if Collins’ view is without merit, the fact remains that God expected the United States to learn from what he gave us as an example when he brought the Assyrians and the Babylonians against the northern and southern kingdoms. He didn’t spare them a world of hurt, even though they were his treasured, chosen people. He won’t spare the United States either.

I totally agree.

We won’t be spared and England won’t be either. As they have been invaded by Muslims.

Exactly...this author is gravely mistaken, or worse deceived.

I listened to Noah Hutchings Watchman on The Wall Radio Program for years.

“Noah W. Hutchings (December 11, 1922 – June 17, 2015) was the president (presidency ended in March 2015) of Southwest Radio Church Ministries, a Christian broadcasting company based in Oklahoma City. He was the host of their nationally syndicated radio show Your Watchman On The Wall, which is broadcast daily on stations across the USA.

He will be missed

“It was popular during the heyday of the British Empire among those who predicted the eventual worldwide hegemony of English-speaking culture.”

I ran across that concept while doing a little research in college. The Scottish Declaration of Independence written in 1320 and signed by Scottish leaders mentions that their kingship line went unbroken back to Moses.

Our judgement is literally being witnessed before our very eyes IMHO.

There’s a remnant of His people here. Once we’re gone, anything can happen.
