In politics demographics is destiny.

The author of this snotty piece is relying on the new reality of the new age of American demographics. It is not just that conservatism is losing the war on the issues it is more that conservatism is losing the body count. I have posted that we as informed and enthusiastic conservatives must be mindful that we tend to live in a bubble. Our friends tend to be conservative and those with whom we exchange political views tend to be conservative.

In a sense we are a subset of a subset of a subset not only demographically by race, class etc. but we are a subset of a subset of a subset based on political ideology. Regrettably, we do not control the Republican Party, we do not even control the Tea Party. The author smugly relies on his view of the racial breakdown of America which gives me another excuse to invoke Nathan's first maxim of American politics:

all politics in America is not local but ultimately racial

Despite all of these realities, I still insist that the way to win elections is Reagan's way: do not try to enlarge the tent by watering down the message try to fill the tent by attracting people to our timeless conservative message.

At this stage in the primary season, Donald Trump is doing just that. The time will undoubtedly come when Trump becomes a very great liability because of demographic realities but we are not there yet.

There is yet another consideration: the Republican establishment has so forfeited its claim on any red-blooded conservative that it matters little now whether we elect a Rino or a Democrat. It matters whether we elect a Ted Cruz or a Scott Walker but it does not matter if we elect a Bush or a Christie. Therefore, Trump is rendering yes another service in separating the flock, in separating the sheep from the goats, the rinos from the conservatives.

Let the primary season continue in robust debate, we conservatives have very little to lose from a political point of view while the Republic has everything to lose.

You ignore the other key item Trump has been saying:

“Bring back jobs to America”.

That in and of itself, will completely reverse the decline of the GOP, and bring the party back to national prominence.

It is the national sell-out of our manufacturing, which has caused the GOP to implode.

Trump is all alone, in saying that is the major problem. I completely agree with Donald Trump on this issue, and he is the only guy saying one single peep about this very important issue.

Bring back jobs to America.

Those same demographics (i.e., Hispanics now being 40% of Texans and Hispanics plus blacks now a clear majority of Texans) were supposed to make Texas competitive in 2014. Instead the Democrats LOST EVERY STATEWIDE RACE by 20 points.

The problem for the Democrats was that they managed to unify the white vote with their extreme liberalism (about 75% of whites voted Republican) and barely managed to win a majority of the Hispanic vote (Dems got about 56% of it). Only blacks came through for the Dems, and there are not enough of them here to carry the election.

It’s also worth noting that the Republicans DID NOTHING to pander to the Hispanics - they ran the most conservative ticket that they ever ran...yet almost split that vote.

In other southern states, particularly Alabama, whites voted in even higher numbers for Republicans (up to 89%).

All of the “Demographic Theories” pertaining to the demise of the Republican Party, and conservatives in general, assume that the white vote will continue to split relatively evenly. Those days are certainly gone in South, which is why it is now solid red, even given the millions of new Hispanics - and the REAL FEAR that the Democrats have is that some Republican candidate will not listen to the Republican ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way) and will start to unify the white vote outside of the South.

Trump may just do that, given his stance on Open Borders.

" Trump becomes a very great liability because of demographic realities but we are not there yet."

Maybe we are their yet, and we don't see it. It's been 2 year now since Mark Levin discussed at length an article by his now late friend, L. Stanton Evans. This article was an indictment of the E-GOP that the Demographics are working in our favor, and frankly liberals are not reproducing. Secondarily, he noted the influx of Hispanics with a majority who are Catholic have a conservative cultural core and we share more with them and they are a natural market to grow the conservative ranks. We need to reach out to them with a Reaganesque come with us Campaign.

Instead the E-GOP doesn't and buys into the K-Streets game of cheap labor (R) vs. lets grab them voting block,(D) lets fight for them game.

Another huge opportunity that will be missed IMHO, the stupid party will blow this too, unless a Cruz-Trump-Walker etc game changer takes the helm and address this at the party level...

Democrats embraced contraception en masse. But they soon devised a strategy to replace those bodies.

Republicans also embraced contraception en masse. And they had no strategy.

I'll give them two right now. A) have more kids of your own. B) make the immigration and adoption systems more congenial to their cause.
