Police find more than Dh6m in bank account
Kuwaiti Police arrested a local man for begging although he has more than Dh6 million in the bank, a newspaper in the oil-rich Gulf state reported on Tuesday.
Police watching the beggar, a bedoun (without identity), found he was claiming that he was broke and had no home, the Arabic language daily 'Al Watan' said.
“They arrested him for begging in violation of local laws. Investigations later showed that he had more than 500,000 dinars (Dh6.1 million) in his bank account,” it said.
After the haircut, or before?
There must be more to this story. Was the guy suffering dementia or some such? Surely a millionaire wouldn’t be begging for pennies unless there was some underling reason other than being cheap.
Does he work for the Clinton foundation?
Without knowing the man, I’d say the most likely reason is that his family might have control of his funds and they cut him off.
