Whoopi Goldberg, one of the few celebrities who has defended Bill Cosby against allegations that he raped and drugged dozens of women, has changed her stance on the scandal.
In an interruption to the normal round-table debate style of the The View, co-host Goldberg sat down one-on-one with ABC News Chief Legal Analyst Dan Abrams on Tuesday to discuss her take on the disgraced comedian.
Goldberg treated the chat as an educational sit down, claiming that she had always been under the impression that if Cosby had raped and drugged women, he would be arrested and taken to jail.
Taking a much more open-minded approach to discussing the Cosby scandal than she did last week when she declared he was innocent until proven guilty, Goldberg asked Abrams, As a serial rapist, why is he still on the street?
Abrams explained that because the civil and criminal statute of limitations has expired for the vast majority of the women accusing Cosby of a crime, he will likely never see the inside of a jail cell.

Just another bigoted Hollyweird nutcase
Chickens comin home to roost!
No one wanted to believe this about Cosby, but the evidence is overwhelming.
In with the first “rape rape” post.
What does Whoopie say about Bill Clinton?
Man, what a relief! I’ve been losing sleep wondering what Whoopie Cushion’s latest brain farts were on this matter.
Why indeed.
That’d be a bridge too far for Whoopi to turn on Clinton. :)
Who is that woman on the far right? She looks familiar I just can’t place her?
A bitter pill for Whoopi.
Eh. I don’t know if this is a big deal. Goldberg had an opinion that he was innocent and now she is changing it. When the Cosby allegations first started appearing on FR threads, people had differing opinions. At least she has an open mind on at least one issue.
“What does Whoopie say about Bill Clinton?”
She’s going to wait until it doesn’t matter anymore. Then she’ll ‘come around’.
Guess it was “rape rape” after all.
Skin color comes first before common sense.
I don’t really care what Whoopi thinks about anything, but her withholding judgment was reasonable IMO.
Until Cosby’s lawsuit testimony came out, there was not a shred of evidence to corroborate any of the accusers’ stories, and many of them had credibility issues.
That's what they said about the Duke lacrosse team.
My guess is that he did the "casting couch" thing to get girls to sleep with him. Perhaps there were drugs involved, perhaps not.
When I discuss this with liberals, they seem to base their belief that he's guilty more on the perception that he's a Conservative than anything else. They're perfectly happy to let Bill Clinton slide however... they say "there's no absolute proof he raped anyone" and that's the end of it for them.
Pictured with three women that Cosby thinks are not ‘Quaalude worthy’.
