No. Unless you’re talking to someone from the ATF, that is...
.45 Caliber...because shooting twice is just wasteful!! :)
Agree with your analysis. Warfighters want it light, lethal, and lotsa load out. Fully integrated exoskeletons, healing suits, C4I, miniaturized directed weapons coming — gonna be Starship Troopers. Patton referring to the enemy: “I pity those sons of bitches, I really do.”
‘bout G-D time.
Completely irrelevant change.
Of all the people who have been killed in war since 1900, how many were killed with small arms fire from a side-arm? And most of them were probably just assassinated by somebody with a pistol to the head.
I rest my case.
They want to use these on american civilians.
Hollow Point Ping...
This is both Hugh and Series!
Ever heard of a subgun? Ever had two weapons chambered with the same round? Ever heard someone say, “I have too much ammo?” Ever seen the difference between FMG and HP wounds? I say it’s about damn time!
Maybe they will become more affordable as a result. I put a box downrange and feel like I have to tap (double tap?) my home equity line of credit ;)
This might not end well. I can hear the propaganda; HP rounds are for military only, outlaw the sale to civilians. Better stock up boys!
In the past we fought wars in big fields with armor, artillery and men dug in. In the future we will be doing a lot more street fighting and kicking in doors. Pistols will never be the most important weapons, but they are more relevant now than they were 20 years ago, and will probably be more important in the future.
And this discussion may also apply to rifle ammo.
At no point in history has any government ever wanted its people to be defenseless for any good reason ~ nully's son
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that weve set. Weve got to have a civilian national security force thats just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. Barack Hussein Obama, 7/2/2008They dont call it a Civil Defense force, that would imply we need (or perhaps that we deserve) defense. The official name is National Civilian Community Corps.
I think of it as the NatCCC, or more simply, as the NatCs...
Did some manufacturer start marketing "dum-dum" ammunition?
I mean, I've never, ever, laid eyes upon a box of ammo, including any kind of HP ammo OR Ball ammo for any service rifle, including 5.56 Nato, 7.62 Nato, or anything else, and seen it labeled "dum-dum".
Come to think of it, never, in my time shooting service rifle competition, have I ever heard anyone refer to any kind of ammo as "dum-dum" ammunition. Like, "Hey Mike, what kinda groups do you get with that dum-dum ammo? How much does it cost?"
Please don't get me wrong; I don't mean any disrespect, I'd just like to get some clarification on the term.
Generally, meant to mean soft nose bullets. The original term came from ammo produced at the British Dum-Dum Arsenal.
I wonder why... :)
You can roll your own. The equipment is similar to standard reloading tools. People are making decent hollow points and frangibles in their basements.
Just in time for Jade Helm.
The .45 was developed to knock down Philippine Huk rebels. They would get drugged up and tie off their extremities when fighting. The .30.06 round would penetrate, but unless it was a good center mass shot, with a through and through, they would keep on coming. A hit with a .45 round, even in the arm, would knock them down.
John Browning liked a .50 calber short length pistol round.
But, it was just too big and impractical.
My fear is that the DiC is not planning on leaving office
