CVS Health is leaving the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, saying the trade group’s position on tobacco products is incompatible with CVS’ focus on health.

The Chamber of Commerce said its position on tobacco products is being misinterpreted and it’s unfortunate that a company is leaving the organization over the issue.

A New York Times article published June 30 said the Chamber of Commerce is fighting anti-smoking laws around the world at the behest of the tobacco industry, which is facing increased regulation aimed at reducing smoking. …

I wish every business would leave the Chamber. They’re as corrupt as can be.

The only reason CVS quit selling cigarettes was because of their supreme leftist PC views and that they hate smokers. I won’t shop there. BTW, I don’t smoke.

7-eleven has cheaper prices and the manager says they picked up a ton of business.

When CVS stopped selling cigarettes, I immediately stopped shopping there. Cigarettes are legal and CVS is trying to make customers follow their definition of what’s good for them. They are still selling wine, likely because they drink it.

If CVS loved us all so much, they'd stop Big Pharma from drugging us all into submission.

CVS is rich off selling happy pills.

Give me a cig instead.

Not just wine.

Around here CVS sells wine, beer and hard liquor.
And they have a couple aisles full of candy.
And Doritos, Fritos, Pribgles and the like.
And a fridge full of frozen pizza, ice cream and drinks made with HFCS.
And I’m sure there’s plenty of trans fat in the store somewhere.

But no Eeeeeeeevil tobacco.

Why? You can buy cigarettes from anywhere. Their decision not to sell them had zero impact on me as a consumer.

Sidebar story -

The last time I went to CVS I handed the clerk a twenty.

She rang it in and then I pulled a handful of change out of my pocket and laid down the exact to the penny difference to make it an even dollar amount.

Can you guess what happened next?

After staring at the change for a moment she called for the manager. He asked me (politely) to please just take the change from the register.

So I did, added it to the change I had taken out and asked for a “solid dollar” as they say around here.

I think she was genuinely surprised when my handful of change actually added up to exactly one dollar.

They’ll sell RU-486 abortifacients to 12 year olds, but draw the line at selling Beech Nut chewing tobacco to consenting adults.

Bet you the ranch they’ll sell hooch in their stores if they got the chance. We don’t have many here.

The only reason CVS quit selling cigarettes was because of their supreme leftist PC views and that they hate smokers.

Actually, they did it purely out of business reasons. They're aggressively moving into the on-site health clinic market and determined that the larger medical organizations they wanted to partner with wouldn't have anything to do with them unless they got rid of tobacco.

I’m pretty sure the CVS stores in Iowa sell liquor.

And I’m sure Rite Aid welcomes former CVS customers who smoke.. It’s almost as if CVS became an arm of the 0bamacare Gestapo. F them.

“Why? You can buy cigarettes from anywhere. Their decision not to sell them had zero impact on me as a consumer.”

Wait until they won’t carry something YOU use/need

I also don’t go in stores that have a sign up they don’t want concealed carry in their store. I consider such stores are targets for killers to come in and kill me.
