This all happened when he was 12, right? It is not “ok” to be molested by a 12 year old. But it’s not the same as if he were an adult.
I favor the death penalty for forcible rape but would NOT favor the death penalty for any child. I consider a 12 year old a child, still.

It started when he was fourteen, after catching him three times the parents finally got him to stop when he was fifteen.
So this was a highschool kid groping small children.
While I’m sure he knew what he was doing was wrong at the time, I don’t think a 12-14 year old can really understand or appreciate (for lack of a better word) the seriousness of something like that, nor the effect it can have on the girls he molested.
It’s to his credit that he owned up to it. That cannot have been easy under any circumstances. I sure would not want any of my dirty laundry aired, even decades later.
