I have no truck with Greeks who want to stupidly and cruelly remove the Jewish star from a museum but they suffered under the Italians, the Germans, the Soviets and the Greek communists under the 20th century. Oh, I think I forgot the Turks. Greece is in a horrible place geographically but that shouldn’t let them turn a blind eye to the Jews. But then they’re are Liberal/Communist Europeans...

Greece did not turn its back on anyone. A city council in a Greek town said it wanted the Star of David removed from a monument. That’s it.

There are 321 Greeks among the Righteous among the Nations. There are 4 Americans....

If I remember WWII history correctly, well somewhat correctly at least, the Greek army defended northern Greece against Mussolini's poorly equipped and trained army quite handily, and eventually drove the Ities back to the northern Greek border from whence they came. Unfortunately for Greece, Hitler then bailed out his good buddy by dispatching a few of his crack army divisions, along with the dreaded Luftwaffe, into the battle and Greece was soon ready to be turned over to Mussolini's guys.

I'm sure the Greeks didn't exactly enjoy being occupied by their Itie neighbors, but it sure beat the heck out of being ravaged by Hitler's bully-boys. And furthermore, who wouldn't rather be occupied by dark haired folks who make really good pizza and ice cream than by a gang of ill tempered blond haired bullys who think sauerkraut and fatty sausages are the epitome of fine dining?
