PARKER, Ariz. (AP) A Phoenix couple has claimed responsibility for putting two fake skeletons sitting in lawn chairs in the Colorado River in far west Arizona, authorities said Friday.
The husband and wife approached the La Paz County Sheriff's Office earlier this week and revealed how the skeletons in their closet ended up at the bottom of the river in Parker

“Unless federal agencies have any issues...”
Famous last words.
THAT’S a couple who knows how to have fun!
Sounds like a couple that wants to wind up in jail.
That, too!
Everyone has a few skeletons in their closet.
I have a feeling that multiple federal agencies will have several issues each with this gag.
Yeah, they might have gotten that idea since the Sheriff's original statement included remarks about discouraging people from doing something like that. Just what laws would they have broken and what harm did they cause?
If the FedMob doesn’t like it then We the People ought to fill the CO River with plastic skeletons.
All that is not mandatory is prohibited.
No kidding. A sense of humor is right out!
A federal agency like the EPA?
Bump
Honestly, I’m glad the cops are cool about it. These days, it’s not uncommon for people perpetrating something like this to be charged for the law enforcement time, the helicopter time and fuel to go out there, the coroner’s time, etc. It can get real expensive real quick. That’s what the airlines do when you get drunk and make the plane land short of destination to arrest you. The arrest and prosecution for threats is nothing. Where they nail you is the charge for the down-time of the aircraft, which is typically in the $50,000-$100,000 range. It’s like buying a house but having nothing at the end of your payments.
You wouldn’t be saying that if the police helicopter crashed on the way out there. Or one of the divers had an equipment problem and drowned. This couple is lucky that they didn’t get charged for the helicopter time and fuel, the law enforcement time, the coroner’s time, etc.
There are so many morons that go into the wilderness with nearly no preparation or experience because they thought it looked cool on Alaska Survivor. “Hey, they walked 75 miles in Alaskan wilderness with nothing but a can of water, a .38 pistol, and a fishing pole. I can do it too!!” When they have to get rescued, they have to pay for it. And they usually get charged with something so that a judge can tell them in person how assinine their behavior was and all the rescuers that they put in danger.
Yes, I would say that. The Sheriff’s dept. does training anyway and this should be no different. They sign up to do the job. Comparison to a rescue of an ill prepared hiker/camper/hunter is ridiculous.
Such alarmism is exactly how the Left goes about whittling away at our precious Freedoms and we have been so conditioned that many start seeing things from their point of view. Oil, meet slope.
