I am in the process of hiring some candidates for some job positions. It's incredible what a wonderful resource FaceBook has been in helping me screen candidates and not waste my time interviewing (God forbid hiring) many candidates.
Ms. Smith: a cover letter showing enthusiasm. Resume shows relevant experience. I check out FaceBook. She has neon blue hair and a nose ring. NOPE!
Ms. Dow: A perfectly written cover letter highlighting how she's a fit for the job. The resume reinforces this. A trip to Facebook shows "B****es will F**** your man!" is the first statement she has posted on her page. NOPE! next...
Ms. Jones: Another nice resume. On FaceBook? "There's not enough coffee and middle fingers for this Monday" Lots of "F*** You" pictures posted on her account. Endless drivel and profanity. Lots of selfies of herself wearing very little clothes. NOPE! next...
I'm now at the point that a perfect resume for these guys might be a sign that a career center put their resumes together. No way they could have.
Ms. Anderson: Her cover letter and resume seem decent enough. I've learned that if possible, check out everyone on FaceBook to see who they really are. On FaceBook, I see postings of how she's excited to get a new degree from a community college. No garbage, just a lot of nice family photos.
Ms. Anderson gets the interview.
Yup.
Saves a lot of time.
Heck, I wouldn’t hire most of my cousins for the reasons you give.
Great post! I love these stories of people putting their life on social media.
As much as I hate facebook, it is an excellent source of OSINT!
Why do you hate men?
Well, you’ve let the cat out of the bag. Libs will now probably pass laws to prevent employers from looking at the Facebook pages of job applicants, or from using the Facebook pages as a basis for hiring.
My facebook page is not public, though I understand there are ways (through friends posts) of seeing a certain amount.
Not that I’d worry anyway. I unfriend people that pull the stuff a lot of the people referred to in the OP do.
Don’t you wish you could tell these ignorant young skanks the reason WHY they didn’t get the job?
It would be doing them a courtesy to point out their FB posts, like their tattoos, are costing them money and jobs, but if you were to do that - you would be sued and your business would be shut down.
I know someone in the insurance claims biz. They use social media all the time to obtain info and pictures on “claimants” to support a charge of fraud.
It’s a fascinating intersection between
“Character is what you do when you think no one’s looking”
and
“LOOK AT ME! ME ME ME!”
He is obviously a Manager at Hooters. LOL
I’m sure he doesn’t hate men.
He probably just has simple minded jobs that pay less that women can do just fine.
(ducking for cover)
>> What? No men being considered?
(shrug) Maybe he’s hiring escorts.
My two cousins are essentially normal but I would never put them in charge of anything.
A few years ago, I was unemployed and had a very positive interview, expecting an offer. My daughter posted it on facebook. I told her that I didn’t know how savvy the company was and since some companies check out social media, I didn’t want them coming across her showing me as being presumptive.
She didn’t understand why I wanted the post removed but finally did it.
BTW, I got the job.
How easy is it to verify the page they’re looking at is that of the one who applied and not just someone w/the same name?
Makes you weep for America knowing that this generation will eventually reproduce if they haven’t already.
I had an HR manager once tell me that white guys were a lot easier to hire than women and minorities for one simple reason: If they didn't work out, they could be fired without fear of consequences.
Libtards can pass all the laws they want, but they can't decide the consequences of those laws.
That is the only reason I would have a FB account...if I were a business owner or HR person in charge of hiring new applicants. For no other reason would it be useful to me.
If they check mines they will see farm animals. I wonder what a potential employer think about that. I rarely post a few anti obama stuff but my page is only seen by friends. My page is full of garbage from the farm, what could ever go wrong?
