Alabama and Montana passed historic school choice legislation this legislative session, giving parents more options in choosing the best atmosphere for the education of their children. Finally, Alabama and Montana join more than 40 states in the movement for school choice and educational freedom, demonstrating that Americans want school choice.
In Alabama, the state legislature passed SB45, allowing for the first public charter schools. Within the bill, an unlimited number of conversion charter schools are permitted, while start-up charter schools are limited to ten schools per year until the law sunsets in 2020. Additionally, charter schools may be authorized by either a local school district or the newly-created Alabama Public Charter School Commission. While possessing flexibility unavailable to traditional public schools, charters are held to certain standards through an accountability process and must be renewed after five years. Alabama is now the 43rd state to pass charter school legislation.

Amazing how the teacher’s public unions oppose school choice.
The union ALWAYS comes before children.
Now here you have my fianc’s sister (who is hot btw but that is not the issue). She would rather have crime rampant, incarcerations rates though the roof, low level jobs and worse for her students rather than vote for reform. She is a PS teacher.
The only way to put an end to the insanity is to eliminate the influence, the established policies, and procedures accepted as though they are U.S. policy that in fact are the U.N. Policy that is fabricated under a cloak of spin by our Leftist masters.
We have to get the U.N. OUT of our business, out of our country to survive. The current crop of alleged leadership in our governing body are part of that influence having been groomed to the U.N. for many years.
Flush the Capitol. Flush it multiple times to get rid of all the enemy within.
This is great news, of course, but real reform won’t happen until we can get the dollars attached to the child, and they can use those dollars to attend any school of their choice. However, these baby steps mean we’re headed in the right direction.
