Having been rebuilt and updated in 1952, Futurliner No 10 now belongs to the National Automotive and Truck Museum of the United States (NATMUS) in Auburn, Indiana. It received a restoration between 1998 and 2005 by a team of dedicated volunteers.
Inside, Futurliners carried displays highlighting some aspect of engineering development, and showcased those displays through massive, 16ft-long doors that opened on each side to create a stage area topped by a marquee:

Watched a few episodes of “Bitchin’ Rides”. KindigIt restored one of these (I believe their shop is in Salt Lake City). Really cool to see all of the “technology” involved as well as brute force build. It was almost like rebuilding “Tomorrowland” :)
Yesterday’s technology, locked in a time capsule.
Wonder if there will be something similar in 50-75 years that encompasses the marvels of 2015?
Does anyone even care?
Wow!
Other than drones and phones?
I've just started watching this show. Yes, they are in SLC.
I'm amazed at what they can do with a rusted-out hulk. But unlike other shows like "Fast and Loud" (the Gas Monkey garage in Dallas), they don't say how much they spend on a project.
I think their clients fall into the category of "if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it".
Drones and phones. Ha! I like that phraseology. It does nicely sum up our current era.
You are right. And their futureliner project took 19 months... they really do amazing work!
Let’s hope that it’s also less fake than “Fast and Loud.”
Pretty flippin' sweet.
I saw that, very cool old rig. Huge. Theirs was a 1930 something I think.
Yeah, the Gas Monkey guys like to "contrive" situations for entertainment. I know of one where an actress was hired for a brief appearance.
I also thought a recent one was amusing: they took the drivetrain out of a modern Dodge Charger that was allegedly "loaned" to them and transplanted it into a classic one.
At the top, there's a "FRAMISTAT".

By the way, here's the restoration project's website:
Absolutely. Yes, you can turn a rusted out 1941 Plymouth into a badass whatever, but your labor costs would buy you a 2 year old MBZ 550 SL rocket ship, if not a brand new one.
Yeah, I saw that and looked it up without gaining knowlege specific to the truck.
The cost of reversing entropy is high
I saw the Kindig-It resto.
The cost must have been astronomical.
Is the show still on?
Thanks
