"Diane," played by Marsai Martin, exclaimed, "I'm my hero, Sarah Palin. I came within a few votes of the vice presidency. I would have won if not for the liberal gotcha media."

From the mouths of babes ... about time!
LOL, that’s great they did that! I’ve watched that show a few times and found it pretty funny.
I don’t think it was meant as a complement.
Unlike a fake TV script, Sarah was This Millennial's Hero before the '08 election.
I didn’t vote for McLame. I voted for Palin.
Although I wish Sarah got as many chances at this sort of thing has Hillary Has. >:(
PIAPS has had people murdered and yet here we are. 20 years later and she STILL has a shot at the Presidency.
BTTT.
Are there any white people on that show?
Beats me.
I completely gave up watching the networks. I watch news and weather on the television along with movies on a dedicated service. The only time I watch the major television networks anymore, is in the morning for news.
(that’s it) Otherwise I am online.
If they start presenting conservative (libertarian) views on things I might start watching again.
This sort of thing is so terribly rare though, that it won’t likely be soon.
Just saying. Kudos to this show, at that moment anyway.
Sarah Palin if she was vice president, would never murder anyone, make phony land deals, have a husband who runs around with a pedophile, accept millions from corrupt heads of state for her foundation, make money in cattle futures or anything else this XX ‘human’ running for president did.
Same here; however McLame was to dead set on to lose the election. It is probably an automatic reflex with him to fold before the Communists.
Ditto
Amen.
bump
It was most definitely not a complement.
This particular episode the father was trying to convince a guy from the Bronx (who is white, BTW) that he's still authentically black by having him over to dinner. The family is destroying his effort at every turn. Right in the middle of his effort his daughter comes down touting Sarah Palin as her hero. There was no sarcasm involved. That daughter is precocious and an independent thinker. Having Palin as her hero was a stretch but not impossible.
The mother is half white. The father has white co-workers.
Thanks for your explanation. Sounds to me like it IS a compliment. Hubby and I have seen commercials for it and always thought it looked funny. We may have to see if it’s On Demand and give it a shot.
