I think Obama is worried about a Bipartisan veto proof coalition forming in the Senate. Menendez must be lobbying his fellow Dems like mad.

If they make it, I'm sure the sudden reawakening of Menendez's legal woes had something to do with it. Everybody knows he skirted the law a bit and could live with it, but I think some are po'ed that Obama did it in such a crappy manner.

There's safety in numbers and I hear they're only 1 vote shy of an veto proof bill.

Why does the senate need legislation for power it already has ?

Obama is worried that his great name, Nobel Peace prize and reputation (gag*) may be besmirched by a little something called WWIII and Islamic overtake of the planet.

Congress will fold like a cheap tent. Habit now and we all know about habits. Boner will cry and Turtle will make a speech and the end the boy king will get his way.

They'll be cowed by the 0bama gestappo and all the dems will fall in line, along with all the RINOs, and the traitor will get his way.

No, they are not on a collision course. Congress will do what their political masters want and they are the same political masters that Obama has.

There will be a bunch of chest puffing, politically correct words they *think* sound tough, a bunch of TV appearances, then everything fades into nothing, as usual.

Exactly!

Also, why is Congress SO paralyzed with fear and awe of this imposter in the WH?

Why, in the whole time “O” has occupied the WH, has Congress been a mute and inert bystander to “O’s” ever increasing violation of THEIR authority?

Who are all these remote, detached, indifferent and inscrutable people who pretend to represent the will of American citizens-yet who cannot even accomplish the minimum rudiments of their charter?

With leadership like THIS during our colonial existence, we’d STILL be British colonies!!

Yep. The Republicrats will be responsible for the coming nuclear war, but they're not too concerned about it. They have have deep underground bunkers paid for by their victims where they and their families can survive it.

Afterwords, they can come out of their hiding places and tell those who lived that if it weren't for them and their brave leadership, none of them would have survived.

The nuke deal has created another “collision course”, and that one involves the new Arab coalition plus Israel, not believing Obama’s words for a minute, that has rushed into the void to oppose Iran.

Unintended though it may be, it could be a good thing in the long run, or short run, even.

“With leadership like THIS during our colonial existence, we’d STILL be British colonies!!”

Looking at it today from that perspective I wonder if winning was worth it.

Exactly. This is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. By even holding a vote on this, they are implicitly giving away their power which is explicit in the Constitution.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

First of all, this has nothing to do with the “Congress”. Approval or disapproval of this arrangement is the exclusive responsibility of the Senate.

Why?

Because the Senate, as designed, is an Assembly of the States (not the People, that’s the OTHER House), and treaties with foreign powers implicate the sovereignty of each State and, as such, are invalid without ratification.

This rush to pass unnecessary legislation is unseemly. You can’t offer the Senate’s power to advise and to consent to the President for a veto.

Worth it?

Maybe not.

The way “O” treats the WH, it’s looking like the difference between a king and a US President is a wash.

Obama is pushing as hard as he can to start WW111. It is the solution all Muslims want. Apocalypse is the start of their new world, one in which they run everything.

Or the leftist elitists are using the muslims to facilitate WW3, to create the circumstances that the US is depopulated down to a level that martial law eliminates the Constitution, allowing for totalitarian control.

“Why does the senate need legislation for power it already has ?”

IMO because they are dealing with a rogue President who is totally off the Rez.
